Comes to something when we need to start Snodgrass , but I can understand where your coming from , me I would put him in midfield with Rice and Wilshere and have Masuaku and Fredericks on the wings and use Cresswell and Zabaleta as the fullbacks no reason they shouldnt be able to overlap , yes a 5 man midfield . We just dont have the personnel to play the Pellegrini way . Would prefer 3 at the back but cannot see him going for that .
We desperately need some pace on the flanks .
Didn't Pellegrini pick new signings for this season?
Yes he did , but as I and many others have stated , we need that midfielder with energy next to Rice , what we have at the moment just are not good enough . Pellegrini is trying to play the way his teams have played in the past without the players to do it .

The Scottish Messi will, if nothing else, show his team mates what WORK RATE means.
Plus, his crosses and corners will give poor old Haller something to feed off.
Yes, I'm using CAPS cos Pellegrini's stubborness is starting to PISS ME OFF
He must have heard you mate. Interesting line up to say the least. Whilshire not on bench. Oggy dropped who has been in decent form and Zabby gets in over Freddy.
The fact that we had to rely on a 32 year old player that we hoped would be there in case of emergencies to inject any kind of energy into this side is very worrying. I will always like Mark Noble but its time we found someone for him to pass the torch to. I never advocated Snodgrass starting and he was the best player, should not have been subbed off. We are so poor and slow in central midfield and we fail to compete that I struggle to see how we can get on track. I thought the Everton game would be a wake up call but these players are clearly still sleeping.
