Rice too young? No.... if you’re good enough you’re old enough, he’s remarkably mature for his age and it would show a powerful statement of intent (although not enough to stop him leaving at some point).
I’d also throw Fab’s name in but I just feel we need an outfield player as captain as our needs for someone to communicate and cajole are particularly acute.
Lanzini ??????? He's shite as well.

Tough one.

On merit, at this moment the only option is Snodgrass. But he is a bang average footballer and surely should only be a sub long term, so he can't be a vice captain when he should hardly be playing. He would be my captain for Burnley though, as I would be playing him instead of Noble.

Fabianski is a decent call, though I don't think he is vocal enough and likes to keep himself to himself. Of course not an option right now.

Maybe one of the CB's, but I think Pelle plays musical chairs in the dressing room to see which one will sit, so again no guarantee any will be on the pitch. Oggy is probably the best shout of the 3 actually.

That leaves Rice. Ticks all the boxes.

Posted this last week....even more relative now :?

"If Pele plays Noble in the advanced position again he will be displaying that classic sympton of insanity.....

Repeating an oft repeated action and expecting a different outcome.

Get him back alongside Rice and let's acknowledge that even if there is hard work being done by A.M's in getting back, they ain't doing much when they get there. Let 'em save their sparse energy for attacking."

There’s a definitive statement if ever I heard one

If Noble isn`t playing, there is only one choice and that is Ogbonna.

Win the toss ? At the moment he's playing like he couldn't give one.
