West Ham vs Watford Match Thread (LINKS in first post)

Post by KingdomOfWHAM »

So our difficult start has passed and we start a relatively easy September with Watford at home. Saturday 3 o'clock kick offs are back!

It's a huge game for both teams. Watford have struggled so far, getting 1 point from their opening 3 matches. The fixture list hasn't been kind to them but since last christmas, they've looked like a shadow of the team they were previously. They need to kickstart their season just as much as we do.

Thankfully our injury crisis is beginning to die down with, according to the official site, only Andre Ayew, Aaron Cresswell, Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho are left to return to training.

How do you think Slav will set up? What are you predictions?

It'll be a draw imo . Dependent on team selections of course :)

For me, this is the same type of game as the Bournemouth one... If we want to be competing for top 7 again, these are the types of games we HAVE to win.

I agree with Gonzo re: Reid as our best CB and we have to get him and Ogbog used to being a left footed pairing. Ginge is a great back-up but doesn't posses the pace of the other 2. I'm sure with injuries we will see plenty of Ginge this season, just hope we have enough attacking players now that we don't need to bring him on as an emergency striker!

I think we'll do Watford 2-1 COYI

Have to say that this is the first game in the prem I have felt any optimism. I couldn't even muster an ounce for the Bournemouth game. It's also the first time I feel stumped about the line up. Midfield is a nightmare. So I am going to work on the premise that Bilic likes to ease players back in. Of course Payets already had game time.

Adrian

Byram
Collins
Reid
Masuake

Antonio
Noble
Coyote
Payet

Gabor
Celery.

Subs.

Rudolph
Oggy
Tore
Lanzini
Iron Balls.

Prediction: 2-0

Hopefully there's room for Fletcher on the bench at least.

Good shout. Never had these problems before, Starnge though that in two weeks we gone from struggling to put a decent side out to spoilt for choice. And we still got more in the store.

It's for precisely this reason why I'm not getting over confident about the outcome of this game Joe .

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Bilic packed the bench out with all our returnees.

I don't think we'll lose but can see the first half being a creative struggle .
