Couldn’t organise a piss up......

Post by Hammershark »

..... in a brewery this club of ours

I never buy a programme at the games anymore.
But a few weeks back I took up the offer of buying a programme for each of our remaining home matches after restart that were to be sent in time for each game.
They advertised .... you can’t be at the game but have the programme to read while you sit back and watch on tv....
How stupid was I to actually think they could pull off such an amazing feat.
This is now the second of 3 games that I have not received the programme in time .... absolutely useless ... piss takers to the max

The only surprise would be if anyone was surprised by such incompetence.

There are some I know who suggest I hate West Ham given the amount of vitriol I dish up.

Wrong. I love West Ham. And always will.

I don't hate any of the players as I don't know them. They may be deficient in ability but that's different. I don't hate Moyes. Even though he belongs in a museum that kids would visit in wide-eyed wonder and say 'Dad. Was football REALLY played like that ?'

But I really really hate the owners with a burning passion. I would not wish them dead but it's close.

They've turned a great club into a cash cow and raped it's heritage. They've become pariahs. EVERY other chairman in the league despises them. They've leached the goodwill there used to be for their own ends and turned us into a laughing stock.

So when I read about something relatively unimportant it just adds to my ever lengthening list of things I hate them for.

Three more years. That's what we have to endure. I don't know when in 2023 that the 25% tax embargo expires, so maybe a 1000 days. There was a film once about, poignantly, Ann Boleyn, called Ann of the 1000 days. It ended with her losing her head.

Sullivan won't suffer the same fate. But many would pay well for a ticket if mob rule took over the country.

So like a prisoner in a medieval dungeon, scratch digits on the wall and cross them off one by one every morning.

There may, just may be a scenario where a knight in shining armour comes along to rescue us, the damsel in distress before then. Because crowds will eventually return and the hatred will become so severe, so threatening, that the owners will genuinely fear for life and limb should they attend matches.

But I wouldn't bet on it. It's more likely they'd not go to matches but sit comfortably in their ivory towers counting the money that punters would continue to pay. I ceased to be someone who's whole world revolved around West Ham years ago. But there are thousands who still do. And that's what they rely on.

I'm told they don't read forums. But employ people to run the rule over them to see which way the wind's blowing. And it's possible that said person or persons post on here as well.

So here's a message for you to relay back.

Fuck off back to your cesspit world of porn and degradation, you pair of utter cunts. Sell up. I don't care who to. Because the alternative cannot possibly be worse.

Do you honestly believe that ? If it's true I think it's incredibly sad that some people's lives are governed by their support of a football club. And if it is true then I guess the same can be said about supporters of other clubs everywhere in the world.

I know a lot of people who enjoy football but I can honestly say I don't think I know anyone who is so utterly consumed by their support for their club their lives are effectively governed by it.

I imagine there are a few sad souls who go home and kick seven bells out of the cat if their team loses but I think, and hope, you're off the beam with your belief there are thousands whose lives are governed by football clubs. That is a scary thought.

When we're kids our team's results matter more because we don't want to be the ones having the piss taken out of us because our mob has just been shafted again. I get that with kids. But as we grow up we become more philosophical and roll with the punches. FFS as West Ham fans if we didn't the suicide rate amongst us would go through the roof.

Do you get them eventually?

I don't want to defend the club, but it could be Royal Mail's fault.

Here, Canada Post are totally inundated since the lock down with online shopping & government mail to the unemployed etc and they are struggling to process stuff, Amazon gets priority and envelopes from Stratford probably get put in the back on the room.

Yes so far I have received them but 2 out the 3 so far have been late which I understand the post could be at fault but it’s up to the club to account for possible delays and send them out a bit earlier surely !
As I said they advertised it as watch the games on tv with your match day programme so to get it to you before the game is the least they can do.
