Good player but back then I used to go and watch the reserves occasionally and I always thought Ray Houghton, who was at the club at the time, was worth looking at in the first team which would have been at his expense.
Do remember one game though where Pike scored an absolute "worldie". A mid air bicycle kick strike from outside the penalty area that flew in at the South Bank. Think it may have been against Norwich but it was so long ago I can't be sure. And a part of our best ever season (85/86) of course. Happy days.
Why Is There Only One Monopolies Commission. Isn't That A Monopoly?
Very underrated. With Brooking and Devonshire being fans favorites,if things weren't going well, some fans would blame him.An important cog in very good sides in 80/.81 and 86.

Geoff Pike never got the accolades like Sir Trev and Devo but he was such an important part of that excellent team. He would tackle hard and fair and scored some cracking goals for us.
I loved his celebrations on the pitch when we won the FA Cup in 1980 - showed just how much it meant to him.
That early 80s team was superb - entertaining and successful and GP was an integral part of it.
A true Hammer and one of my all time favourites - Mr Reliable.
