Did you know if we beat Liverpool Sunday,it will be the greatest month in our history, results wise...In 1986.We did win Seven, but we did lose 2 in the month of April.

In 1980,we did equal tonight`s feat of 6 wins in a Calendar month, but we had one loss in the month of September. We were in the 2nd Tier, but I would say, that was the most enjoyable in our history. We reached the League Cup Final and walked the League with the best Football I have seen.

goodpost:) That season was great fun, every bit as enjoyable as 86, it felt like we’d win 4-0 every week. (That may be nostalgia talking). I missed the final game as my stupid brother booked his wedding for Saturday 3pm.

1980/81 was a very enjoyable season despite us losing 2 of the 4 games we did lose to my former employers Luton Town. But for me it doesn't compare with 85/86 for the quality of football, probably because in 85/86 the opposition was a better standard. I doubt I'll ever see another season where West Ham had a chance of actually winning the league with only 2 games left to play.

The sad thing is in typical West ham fashion we didn't strengthen an already very good squad to press on. And of course a great shame we didn't get to enjoy any European experiences in the UEFA cup because of the ban.

In my opinion 1980/81 was the best football,I ever see.For Entertainment.it was the best..Brooking and Devonshire were poetry in motion.

80/81 was a terrific season , but for me 85/86 was the far better season for all the reasons Whiskyman stated , will we ever get a end to a season like it again .

Probably not. But I'm enjoying the one we're having right now tbh. For me the highlight was the 4-0 win at Stamford Bridge. Although the penultimate game at The Hawthorns was a bit special too with everyone a Chelsea fan for the day, willing them to turn over the scousers. Shame Chelsea didn't win that one instead of the game at Upton Park. A truly momentous season.

If we'd have beaten than at Home,we'd have won the League. There is no way Everton(last game) were handing their title over to their rivals.
