Didn't remember him play unfortunately but guessed when I saw the thread title that was going to be the news.
I'm guessing he was maybe with is early 70s?!

I was there the night in 1989 when he scored 2 against Sunderland. I knew he'd had a cancer scare.

Really sad news this, I remember watching him as well. 48 is no age at all. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

he was 48 and had cancer for a while but while he was not a superstar player, he played at the same time as Stuart Slater et al....a great era for the club and I remember him sounding like really nice guy. Was assistant and youth coach at Reading and highly rated.....so sad !

Sad news.I remember him playing for us when I was in my teens.Never became a regular first team player!
I thought he survived cancer in his 20s but iam not 100 % sure!And then moved on to Exeter?
