Season Mess, Doing It Cheap Thread

Post by 1234 »

......next season will be the same, and the next and the next.
Whoever is the manager, whoever we sign the season will end up a mess as the owners have not got a clue.
Laughing stock this season, and the next and the next.

People wanting this season over to start again next season are deluded.

Groundhog day.

I'm inclined to agree (sucking on oxygen) regarding the harsh reality of the owners finding and employing "A-listers" (players and manager).

That's it though....... I prefer to leave the words "deluded" to the likes of yourself and Andy "bastion of knowledge" Townsend.
Fancy calling your only son "Barnestoneworth"
He's got another name....
Yeah....."United"

Doubt now there are many deluded fans left that are prepared to expect much from this lot anymore.

We have had our high now it's time to settle down and get back to reality. These lot are prepared to scrape by on their self imposed tight budget just to stay in the prem. They couldn't care less where we finish in the top 17 or how we achieve it. But we know that don't we.

Well, as is norm for any rational person, we can only hope things get better, but hope is a long way from believing. We shall see, but I only ever hope for the best but now its hope for the best but expect nothing.

I agree.

They just want top do everything on the cheap.

They make all these promises and never fulfill them. It`s just a line of bullshit to make us buy season tickets etc.

Amazing how when Allardyce was here, so many of you were convinced that all the best signings were sullivans and all the rubbish signings were Allardyce's and you all wanted Tony Henry in as the decision maker.

One average season (by our standards) and now its all Sullivan's fault .....

oh and as for groundhog day.....didnt we have the same manager and owners last season. You lot all change your minds more than women.

:) :) :)

No idea what you are talking about, bud.
I have been consistent with my views on the owners.

Groundhog Day?? I'm sure we had the same owners during the last relegation and the near misses after.

Are we "Doing it on the Cheap?"

Post by Pennywise »

So, I've read a lot on here recently that we've been "doing it on the cheap" since the 2 D's took over. Jason Cundy jumped on the bandwagon and said the same on TalkShite last week, so I thought I'd actually take a look at the figures and see what's what.

The figures I'm using are based on transfers alone and include the January Transfer window.

So, based on Net Spend, we sit 6th in the table:

Based on outgoings alone, in terms of money, we sit 8th:

So, are we "doing it on the cheap?"

The question should be are we spending wisely?
On evidence of this seasons signings it a big fat NO!
It’s not what you do it is the way that you do it.
