First car

Post by eastcoastclaret »

Having read MK’s start you bastard thread and Nevs guess the car response I thought I’d see what wheels you all started out with.
My first car was an Escort mk1, 1300E, metallic green paint, walnut dash, with chrome wheel ring type trims. I thought it was cool at the time. I wanted the metallic purple one at the time but couldn’t find one. A previous owner had cut a hole, poorly, in the dash with a can opener to fit a shit radio so I blanked it off and bought the obligatory leather look center console. Loved that car, went everywhere in it, had my first car shag on the passenger seat, had my first of many prangs in it, pulled it out of a ditch at 4am and gave me memories that still make me grin to this day. She rusted out so bad in the end so I let her go.
What was your first car and best memory attached to it?

In the absence of the Sarcasm emoji I’ll take that as a compliment BD ;)

Unfortunately I’m unable to find the previous thread .

So there’ll be no merging here today .

However I did manage to prise this from the archives.

Enjoy .

Communism deprives no man of the power to appropriate the products of society; all that it does is to deprive him of the power to subjugate the labour of others by means of such appropriations.

Morris Oxford.

Built like a tank.

Which I endorsed by painting it black and drove down Ripple Road with 'March of the Valkyries' blaring out from the speaker I'd installed on the roof.

Mark 2 1600gt cortina. Couldn't afford a 1600e.
As opposed to Palerider's ' built like a tank' it was built more like a coke can. As I proved when I wrote it off. It sat in Bobby George's shed for about a year untill he told me " Take it to the fucking scrap yard or else" :)
Just like my dreams they fade and die.
But on the positive side..............
