Balbuena

Post by brookingslovechild »

personally think he has returned to his best form and looked really solid on sunday, he's clearly not quick but has a great reading of the game and like declan gets in the right position. He lost his confidence this year but maybe an extended run will be like having a new signing....which doesnt make up for ...not having a new signing.

Him and Oggy in 2 games have looked a very solid partnership.

As has been mentioned we are however an injury ( or 2) away from disaster.

nice to go into an international break with a positive feeling but equally apprehensive about a sluggish return. Life of a Fan eh?

Agree
and would add against two very good sides that all including myself were concerned about get thumped score wise
maybe we will see youth for a change, not loads just one or two this season would be nice ( providing they step up that to the challenge that is )

He's clearly a better player alongside Ogbog.

If I remember rightly Balbuena and Diop had a pretty fine partnership under pellegrini , until Balbuena got his injury .

Looks slow as Noble.
Get's away with it as we play a ten man defence out of possession.
In a 'normal' team/line up he would get destroyed.

Good Player always was...only one of our CBs that really Attacks the ball from crosses, even Oggy and especially issa
tend to ball watch at times..weakness of ours at back..
You need the "Get the fuck outta my way" approach sometimes....

Can pick a nice pass outta defence at times as well...happy with him starting...

i wouldnt disagree , but those not blessed with pace use positional sense and a good reading of the game, And he has both when fit and playing alongside a decent partner. the likes of Vardy can destroy most full backs. Hopefully he gets a run in the team and when we get battered in any of our following 3 matches you can have a gloat then, but for now i'd say well played Balbuena.

Go on give positivity a whirl chap, you might like it.

You should always judge Center backs as a partnership. The whole is sometimes better than the sum of the parts.

Seems this is a good partnership.

Nor should we forget that Fredericks came off injured against Wolves and was missing completely against Leicester. Johnson had a reasonable game when he came on and Coufal had a very impressive debut. The CDs were therefore able to concentrate on their own duties without covering for a defensively inadequate right back.
