A good player and coach.

Maybe not our greatest manager, but he was a very popular fella amongst his professionals. One player who surprisingly looked up to him was Paul Gascoigne.

RIP to one of life`s nice people Glenn.

A nice and spot on tribute by Howard Wilkinson.

"A cultured defender as a player, he managed with a studious style and was always generous with his time and ideas," said the LMA chairman.

"Glenn was such an unassuming, kind gentleman who demonstrated lifelong dedication to the game. Not one to court headlines, his commitment and application to his work at all levels warrants special mention.

"Football has lost a great servant today and our sincere condolences go to Glenn's family and friends."

Sad news. Hope he didn’t suffer much. Don’t wish that on anyone. Didn’t rate him as a manager but a decent fella. Awarded me my goalkeeper of the month award at a Tony Cottee soccer school about 100 years ago
