Welcome to Wincanton. It's heavy going and I believe that in the first race, the McDullard Replacement Stakes, we've had a couple of withdrawals, is that right Julian ?
Yes Pale, both Tommy the Kraut and The Belgrano Boy haven't made the trip but the remaining four runners and riders are at the tape....
And they're off.
A 3 mile slog in this mud Pale and The Ginger Squeaker is making the early running followed by The Spanish Waiter, then The Bearded Wonder with I No Speeeak Eeeeenglish bringing up the rear.
The Spanish Waiter now moving alongside The Ginger Squeaker, I No Speeeak Eeeeenglish close behind in third. And as they come to the 4th fence, The Bearded Wonder has work to do. They're all safely over although a bit of a stumble by The Spanish Waiter but jockey Niall O'Tinycunt stays on.
Halfway now Pale and The Ginger Squeaker is struggling. Making the early running has taken it's toll and yes. He's pulling up. Just the three left as we come to the 8th and a mile to go. Exciting stuff in the Somerset countryside.
The Spanish Waiter making the running. Safely over. The Bearded Wonder in pursuit. I No Speeeak Eeeeenglish not out of it. My God Pale, this is so exciting I've shit my trousers.
Approaching the final fence and The Bearded Wonder leads. The Spanish Waiter staying on and I No Speeeak Eeeenglish two lengths behind. AND THE BEARDED WONDER HAS FALLEN !. He's tripped over his beard leaving just the two. Jesus Pale, I've just cum !
Neck and neck. Too close to call but......I No Speeeak Eeeeenglish wins it by a nose. What a race. I'm in a mess !!
So...the winner at 12/1 was I No Speeeak Eeeeenglish ridden by Ciaran O'Littlefella, 2nd at 3/1 was The Spanish Waiter ridden by Niall O'Tinycunt. Only two finished. A purse of ten bob for transfers along with the coveted Goldie Memorial Cup goes The outsider from Argentina.
We'll be back after the break for the Sullivan Public Hanging Chase. Don't go away.

I've never liked DM, the man or the manager. This opinion was based during his time at Everton and been confirmed at every club he has been associated with since.
I don't hold he is a good coach nor do I think he is innovative or in anyway dynamic. My personal utter distaste was finally reached when he interviewed the young BBC reporter Vicky Sparks and made the 'get a slap' comment. What a boorish odious things to say. Stupidity knows no bounds.
And I don't agree with the 'he's got credit in the bank' for two decent table finishes analysis, those that the day time drabs trot out on KUMB or the HC videos, for balance.
Given the playing staff during that period, a lot of coaches could have achieved similar outcomes. I don't confer any special merit on DM. for the achievements. Simply par for the course given those circumstances.
Four important players did the business and three of those were operating at their height of personal performance.
Of those only Rice is still able to perform at that level and he is going to depart leaving...
Antonio and Soucek are both operating below those stellar standards. Either a combination of their styles now being nullified or age blunting their capabilities. Bowen has been worked out by constant exposure and his own limited flexibility. He always does the same two manoeuvres with diminishing effectiveness.
DM is unable to "coach" a new methodology being encased in his own rigid doctrines. It's stale and the shelf life finally expired and died publicly 12 months ago.
Sean Dyche for all the sneering would have this West Ham team at least performing to a professional level expected of the available talent. Why can't DM "Winning is what I do" manage to at least reach a base competency of expectedness.
And no, I'm definitely not advocating Sean Dyche, although I quite like his affable smoothness.

Indeed post of the week , in fact probably the best since BB’s opening salvo on this very thread .

Sorry though , I can’t be having Dyche.
Do we want a manager with the best chance of saving us from the drop. At the risk of selling our soul ? Well tbh the past 12 months haven't exactly been tiki-taka have they ? It's made Allardyce look like Pep by comparison at times. Dyche probably is the only one although it's a very slim chance anyway.
The most fun would be Bielsa but also the least chance of achieving it. Not his fault but that of McDullard leaving us with a team equipped to appear on the Barclays walking football ad.
Personally I don't think any can save us as it's been left too late. But as long as Bielsa accepted the risk and rebuild a team in his image, I'd accept that.
