Re: Was Pellegrini's starting lineup inexplicable?

Don't think Pelle will go with 2 up top unless we're chasing a game. I do agree that Antonio should be in the lineup at the moment though, with Haller (when fit). I think a system of Anderson left, Antonio right and Lanzini in the hole behind them would be my choice, but in this system the wingers h...

That story is 2 years old.
The 10% story is 2 years old. The new story is he is going to takeover fully
Yeah but your definition was "soon" and then you posted an article from 2017!

Re: Brighton vs West Ham Official Match Thread

Our defenders were shit and I can only hope that Noble can come back and inject some positional sense. I think it's time we pushed Lanzini to an attacking 10 role behind whoever is striker and take away his midfield, ball winning role. He needs to be in hole behind the striker with the freedom to mo...

Re: Well that didn’t take long.......

Cant really get too upset at attacker's injuries given the abundance of choices up front, just thank Christ it's not Rice or Diop injured at this point (runs for nearest piece of wood!)

Re: Most of us agree that we need a box to box midfielder to slot in alongside Rice in centre midfield.

The modern game has 2 players in the cm with slightly different roles. As Rice develops he might go from the more defensive role to the box to box role. However we will never know this until we sign some quality to play alongside him. Agreed, I just can not understand why no one was signed in this ...

Re: Most of us agree that we need a box to box midfielder to slot in alongside Rice in centre midfield.

When has Pellegrini done that? Yaya Toure isn´t a DM btw he is a box to box midfielder No but Fernando ( or whatever his name was) and Fernandinho were/are as were the 2 fellas he had at Malaga and Villarreal whose names escape me. Clayton and Andy will be along at some stage with the specifics. Th...

Re: Do we have too many technicians?

Next summer ffs! Yes. We could have bought a stopgap this season (only if we could have unloaded a foreign player though as we are at the max) for a couple of million but I prefer to wait until we can get someone of quality. Seems each season we spend big on one position. I personally think it is p...

Re: Do we have too many technicians?

Which makes me wonder if Pellegrini thinks that’s what Rice should be doing and if so begs the question Is he ? Should he be ? He is and should be and against the lower teams it would be enough but against teams like City you need two of them or at least a box to box powerful midfield player to go ...

Re: West Ham vs Man City Official Match Thread

As dirty as Rodri was, he did the job and moved the ball well too. We had no answer for him, KDB and Sterling, our midfield was overrun and our defensive highline, that Pelle loves, is always rusty at the beginning of the season, so probably shouldn't have been employed against Man fuckin Citeh! Agr...
