Re: F1, 2019

Official news is that Kubica is to leave Williams and what is a surprise, is that Grosjean is staying at Hass. I expect that Williams will promote their reserve driver, as he's worth about 30 million to the team. 30 million? I didn't know that! We were discussing this a few weeks back. My a...

Re: Genuinely not Tommy Cooper.

Apparently, one in five people in the world are Chinese. Well there are five people in my family, so it must be one of them. It's either my mum or my dad. Or my older brother, Colin. Or my younger brother, Ho-Chan-Chu.

I think it's Colin.

Re: F1, 2019

Another, if a wee bit controversial, win for Leclerc -- no chance he was getting punished at Monza. And another nail in the coffin of Vettel? Yet another spin for Seb, he just seems to have lost it completely. Hard to see how he comes back from this. Of the 7 races remaining maybe Russia and Mexico...

Re: F1, 2019

News just in, is that the above drivers got reprimanded in qualification, Except Vettel who went off the circuit?. Think Mercedes are in a good position to win tomorrow. They will use Bottas to come in early and get Charles t do the same. Allowing Hamilton to gain an advantage and save his ...

Re: F1, 2019

I think F1 would like a more linear journey through the season, but you'd imagine that money dictates the calendar for the most part. I expect places who struggle to finance their GP -- Monza, Hockenheim, Silverstone -- would be amenable to being shifted around for a bit of financial consideration....

Re: F1, 2019

True. Can't disagree with that. Years ago the British GP would alternate between Silverstone and Brands Hatch. That set-up worked well. In Germany they did something similar. I've long thought they could do something similar between neighbouring countries, or countries in the same region. Imaging h...

Re: F1, 2019

Personally I thought there were too many races already. I feel it just waters down the value of each. For many years there were 16 races. And that I think was about right. But as ever, money talks. Having said that I don't mind if they add more races in the US. That will mean evening viewing for us...

Re: F1, 2019

It's looking like a 22 race season next year. With Vietnam and the Netherlands joining the calendar. It had seemed like those two races would replace the German and Spanish GPS, but apparently the Catalan government have agreed to fund the Spanish GP for at least one more year. So as it stands only...
