West Ham vs Arsenal Official Match Thread

Post by Ibbyham » Mon Jan 07, 2019 10:57 am

Following our good cup win against Birmingham and have a full week of recovery and preparing plus 3 players could be back for the Arsenal game which I hope Balbuena will be ready.

Squad:

Fabianski

Zabaleta
Diop
Balbuena
Cresswell

Noble or Nasri
Rice

Snodgrass
Antonio
Anderson

Arnautovic

This is sound a good strong squad and my prediction is a 1-1 draw as we never had a good home record against the Goonders since Premier League formed West Ham only won TWICE. Hopefully with Pellegrini, will improve.

Shit record against the arse can't see much changing on Saturday either, so it's a West Ham score first and lose 1.4, on a brighter note at least that shitcunt Walcott won't score.

Subs - Adrian , Masuaku , Ogbonna , Noble , Snodgrass , Diangana , Silva .

System 4-3-3 with Nasri commanding the flow of the match with his passing/creativity in midfield ;) . Hopefully Balbuena is fit and raring to go . Noble to come on in the second half to replace the none existent Obiang  , Noble (super sub) cannot play at the pace/enthusiasm he did in the comeback against Brighton every game for the full 90 minutes . Snodgrass could replace Nasir if required , Diangana for Antonio if required .

I would start Snoddy instead of Nasri, only based on fitness levels.
I think that the Gunners will come out fast and will want a quick goal and to dominate.
( like what Burnley did).
Nasri does not yet the fitness, bring him on with 30 mins to go.

Excited about this match...

Our first game against a top team for 6 weeks. Will be a good test of Pelle's progress.

My expectation is a little tempered by our last run-out against a top 10 side! Hopefully we're a little fitter this week than we were against Watford.

Agree they are next level and we never do well against them .

But they ain’t TOP level so they can be got at .

Keep Aubaywhatsit quiet and we have a chance but it’s our injuries and midfield ineptness that is worrying.

But yes certainly a progress report afterwards Michael.

Not sure that’s totally true

The regular four goal hidings disguise the fact we were the last away side to win at Highbury, first away side to win at the Emirates, we’ve beaten then away when expected to be battered opening day of the Payet season, Di Canio destroyed Keown at UP, the Carroll hat trick game was memorable after being 0-2 down, and we were unlucky not to get something this season

Every now and again, we turn up against this lot
