Whiskyman must have missed the first 15 mins.
I didn't. I'm assuming you are referring to the effort Fabianski saved early doors. Of course our defence isn't perfect but considering today we were up against one of the best strikers in Europe I think our defence proved more than adequate. Of course there is always room for improvement but anyone saying Arsenal found it easy to get through our defence today watched a different game to the one I saw. Including the first 15 minutes. ;)

And FFS if a goalie having a relatively quiet afternoon isn't an indication of a defence being in relative control of a situation I don't know what is. I think it's only the 4th clean sheet we've kept, Chelsea, Newcastle & Fulham being the others, and I will stand by my comment it was our best defensive performance of the season. Particularly considering the opposition.
Best i have seen with Oggy in the team regarding defending. Both their strikers were through today and missed chances, Declan must have stopped them 4 or 5 times when they were in full flow. No idea what Anderson had for breakfast because he played a blinder defensively, even made 3 tackles. Flappy was probably quiet because their finishing was diabolical today, but that doesn't mean they never sliced through us a few times.
To be honest, Arsenal were very poor today. Only one side turned up for a London Derby. But we are still very vulnerable with just 2 in the middle. Liverpool wont be as generous when get in that box

There are always going to be chances in matches. And it doesn't matter who contributes to the defensive effort because that's what team sports are about. Of course Rice stopped them 4 or 5 times. That's what DM players are there to do. Of course Anderson tackled back. That's his job. And those 2 doing their jobs well, along with others, are the reasons it was, imo, our best defensive performance of the season.

I thought Iwobi was their best player but Ramsey improved them when he came on. No skin off my nose but they're letting him leave yet Ozil, who's on 300k a week apparently and declared himself fit, was not even on the bench.

Just a thought, and I'm not saying we should pay Arnie what the Chinks are offering him, but with a 60.000 capacity now, if all this bollocks is about getting an improved deal from us, if Ozil does get that much, maybe he has a point.
He should be our top earner for sure. he is on 100 grand and chico 140. Arnie should be on 150 . Your best player or most influential player that can change a game should be the top earner. De bruyne is top earner for City. Ozil Arsenal. Salaah Liverpool . etc etc. Actually Liverpools wage list isn't that high compared to City. Lots of players under 100 a week. So Arnie was obviously turned down by the twins when he put that point to them.

You think Ozil is Arsenal’s most influential or best player???

He can’t even make the bench most weeks when fully fit and Wengers lumbered them with that ridiculous contract because HE signed him, yet Ramsey’s going on a free

That club is run like a circus as much as ours

Point is they DIDNT slice through our defense,

They looked like they would, but excellent defending never allowed that final through ball which usually ends up with a tap in.

Point is they DIDNT slice through our defense,

And a lot of that is thanks to the defensive midfield display.....We are always going to let goals in its in our nature, but to walk away from the first half of the season having just a -2 goal difference ( at the same stage last season it was -16 ) there is optimism that our defense has greatly improved.
