Underated Irons

Post by Hammershark » Sat Feb 09, 2019 11:20 am

Who’s your most underated players to have worn the shirt for West Ham.
In my view Geoff Pike was a great little player and Steve Potts was so consistent for us but neither really got noticed especially outside of West Ham.

Pat Holland and Ronnie Boyce, both kept the midfield ticking over. More recently I think Danny Gabbidon's performances seemed to go under the radar to me!

Sebastian Schemmel for me. I know he won HOTY but he's a player not many people talk about when reminiscing about previous players. I was gutted he left when he did but there are rumours he was going through some family stuff which may explain things.

Rounding to the nearest whole numbers makes them pointless.

Feisty little fucker.

Took on John Pearson when playing charlton once, he was about 6 foot 6 and shat himself

Good shout Danno,
Patsy Holland was a very good player... Boyce was a little before my time but looked good on a few vids I have watched.
Schemmel was also a beast on his day.

Ward was feisty alright ... he played a big part in the run in during 86 ...good at winning a pen and a good shot on him.

Remember a guy used to love watching,east-end lad came thru the ranks..
Alan Dickens...Midfielder,always reminded me of Sir Trev a bit in his movement, and way he played,
even his mannerisms on the pitch.....and if you squinted your eyes a bit under the lights looked
a bit like him... .......Seriously tho, thought he was a very good player..

Dickens sure did have a touch of class about him.
