Off to sunny Spain

Post by ToneLoc » Mon Feb 11, 2019 1:04 pm

So, the squad will be taking advantage of their lame FA Cup exit to head down to southern Spain for some warm(er) winter training:
https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/footba ... 63146.html

I know these types of trips have divided opinion in the past as may this one, particularly in light of how this “window of opportunity” came about.

As disgusted as I was with the pathetic exit to Wimbledon, I’m actually all for this particular trip.
I’m pleased that a number of injured and borderline-fit players will be able to recuperate under better conditions than the shithole at Rush Green...... as long as it doesn’t turn into a glorified holiday.
Pellegrini said they’re going there to “work”, as such my expectations are that they do just that and as a result we see a fresh & lively looking performance against Fulham on the 22nd.

Edit: I suppose the most cynical viewpoint could be that the players are thinking before the Wimbledon game..... “hmm, warm winter training break with some beach time or a cold-wet Tuesday evening somewhere north of Manchester?”.
Naturally that level of cynicism is beyond me :)

Does a full English still count as a full English if you’re from Mexico, Austria, Poland, Spain, Italy........

And with a manager called Manuel they'll have no problems with service.

I see 'Wor Andy' has been to the barber.

But good to see they're taking it seriously.

I'm told Cressie won the pedalo challenge yesterday.
