Cardiff vs West Ham Official Match Thread

Post by Ibbyham » Tue Mar 05, 2019 4:25 pm

Following our good completed performance win against Newcastle, we have now got more exciting attacking players and better defensive performance players and hope that will continue this Saturday 3pm against Cardiff.

Squad:

Fabianski

Frederick
Diop
Ogbonna
Masuaku/Johnson (if he fit)

Rice
Noble
Snodgrass
Anderson

Lanzini
Chicharito/Arnautovic

Hopefully a good performance game from us and to keep up the pressure on 7th place as Cardiff is the only teams left to play away outside top 10 with evil clubs of Man Utd, Chelsea, Spudwack & Watford which I hope to get at least 2 points from those remaining away games AFTER the Cardiff game.

Balbuena played the U-23 side unscathed and ready to return to the squad against Cardiff. Question is....would it be better if Balbuena return and push Ogbonna as left-back in place of Masuaku as I am still not 100% confident if Masuaku start at left-back.

Only solution if Pellegrini put 3-4-2-1 if Ogbonna, Bulbuena and Diop at the back 3, Frederick, Rice, Noble and Snodgrass in middle 4, Lanzini anknd Anderson in behind either Chicharito/Arnautovic.

I think it will be the same squad and tactics with Masuaku at LB and hope he will continue where he left off against Newcastle.

Newm, do you like the current West Ham?
You need to be up front.
Are you happy every time they win? Does losing sometimes satisfy you?
I feel you are not showing your true colours on here. I think you are similar to me, a West Ham supporter but disgusted with certain tings about the club now.

I’m happIER with the current West Ham .

But I believe there are certain things ingrained in our DNA that always hold us back , that make for the typical West Ham characteristics if you like , such as competing one on one successfully against clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea etc yet losing to Wolves & Bournemouth .

And I don’t trust our board to continue the investment they started last summer .
Sullivan is not famous for financially backing a manager in his second season .
But yes I’m happy when we win and always ALWAYS heartbroken when we don’t.

Fabianski
Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell
Noble, Rice
Antonio, Nasri, Anderson
Arnautovic

Id protect Lanzini for this one. Don't particularly want him getting crunched by Harry Arter who is a right dirty bastard. They have very little quality and will try and make it into a scrap.
Harsh on Hernandez, but for the reasons above we need a physical presence up front.

Cracking intro Ibbs. Some people think this might be draw. Not for me, I am feeling the other persuasion.

Jhammers has imagined Nasri contributing. All deft flicks and cunning disguised passing. If that happens and the others are clairvoyant sufficient then an interesting first 60 mins is in front of us.

However he might not be there and other stuff might materialise. It's an interesting set of circumstances

I'm a bit dubious about this.. Bit of an urban myth I feel... I'm sure we perform well against top teams only when we have our best eleven out, and conversely only lose unexpectedly when key players are out.

Like most teams...

Their main man Sol Bamba is out. I think we will do them good, 3-0.

Can't believe Im saying this, but I would absolutely keep Ogbonna in. He has been superb for the past month and does not deserve to be dropped.

Same team as Newcastle for me. Snodgrass is worthy of his place for the set pieces alone - or is he suspended?
