£25m transfer budget

Post by Gonzo » Fri Mar 08, 2019 7:51 pm

I thought I'd already posted this but obviously it didn't work, someone needs to have a word with admin or something.

Anyway, the rumour is that we have a summer kitty of £25m plus whatever we can get from sales. :?

Whether we believe it or not is one thing but the club are certainly leaking the info.

If we finished 7th, maybe a bit more in transfer budget depending on Premier League bonus money. However, we need to get rid of some players that aren't up to scratch:

Carroll (Wages will be massively reduce)
Chicharito
Perez
Masuaku
Adrian
Obiang (if a suitable offer comes)
Arnautovic (if a suitable offer comes but doubt it)

If those players goes (if Obiang and Arnie staying), West Ham would get at least around £70millions in budget from sales ad if Obiang and Arnie leave, then that would be around £120 millions

I wouldn't worry too much. Husillos has shown he can wheel and deal, so I'd imagine £25m + transfer fees would be enough, especially if he does as well as last summer.
A couple of frees, a couple of Balbuenas, and the bulk of the money spent on a forward and a partner for Rice. Doable, in my humble opinion.

For me a lot depends on how Pellegrini wants to set up. You can do 3 out and 1 in up front if he's planning on playing 4231, but not if he wants to play a 4222. And if he wants to play the latter we have too many AMs on the books. There's a lot of possible permutations.

Communism deprives no man of the power to appropriate the products of society; all that it does is to deprive him of the power to subjugate the labour of others by means of such appropriations.

That would be more like it and would show they had some ambition.
I still have no faith in that tight fisted Welsh cunt or his sidekicks.

Agree 100% on your last sentence .

Sullivan will have to financially back Pellegrini’s second season to a similar tune as last summer just to tread water in this league as everybody else will strengthen significantly once again .
And THAT is something he historically does NOT do (although he may surprise all of us).

And if he reinvests incomings from sales instead of trousering it it will be a first .

I’m not holding my breath.

I agree with this.

£25m + transfer fees is the more likely scenario.

Arnautovic is the key here. We could sell half a dozen other players and not get £30mil combined for them, yet Arnie is where we will make most of our coin.

Having said that, I think we missed the sampan with the Chinese club, and his value is decreasing with each passing week.

Will wait and see instead of overreacting

The press have a hard-on for a bit of drama when it comes to West Ham
