Ronaldo and Messi(again)

Post by terrya1965 » Thu Mar 14, 2019 3:09 pm

Think many have debated this one.I did see if I could find the old thread, but without success.

I was one of them, that went for Messi, all day long, but I'd now admit,I am not so sure now?

Ronaldo getting Juve out a hole this week proves that he has still got it big time.Just remarkable against a very stubborn Athletico defence.

These 2 will probably be the difference in stopping an English club lifting the CL this year. Both are still different gravy to the rest.Neymar comes no where near these two, although his ego is bigger than both and that is saying something when we all know Cristiano has a massive one.

I still love Messi's style and I do prefer to watch him,but Ronaldo is just the complete package. He can do the lot.His heading ability is has good has anyone`s.His done it at United and Real and he looks like his repeating it at Juventus.

Messi has done it at Barcelona, but has never been anywhere else.I think many of Ron's fans will say that puts him in front.

Well I fucking well hope someone stops an English club lifting the bloody thing. Watched Barca Lyon last nightand what pissed me right off was the good news from Munichfrom the commentry when scousers score. Fucking good news --bollocks it was. Too much fucking noshing going on. If you support a team in it fair enough but ffs going all england my england because the scouse or spurs have gone through is a fucking no no for me.

Who knows, like comparing a Bugatti & Koenigsegg

Both outrageously out of our league.

I would like Juve to win it though for some reason, if they play Barca in the final that would be lip smackingly delicious. As long as its not Liverpool.

Messi is better on the eye but Ronaldo is compatible to more positions, styles and tactics.

Messi looks wonderful in free-flowing possession based teams. Ronaldo could have scored 30-40 goals per season for Tony Pulis's Stoke. I'm pretty sure Allardyce would have benched Messi (The Jurassic cunt).

Messi is the one I'd pay to watch but if West Ham were in the last 10 mins of a cup final and were 1 goal behind I'd certainly pick Ronaldo. 30 yard screamer, penalty, scrappy tap-in, header from a corner, jinky run . . . . the bloke is a threat from any situation.

Still haven't got a clue who's best though.

To quote Ray Hudson on this, Ronnie is a virtuoso on Violin, plays it better than anyone ever has, while Messi is the best conductor of the orchestra!

Messi.

All-time career (club and country, but excluding club friendlies)

Ronaldo: 682 goals and 218 assists in 951 appearances

Messi: 653 goals and 270 assists in 801 appearances
Hat-tricks: Ronaldo 52; Messi 50

Career goal ratio: Ronaldo 0.72; Messi 0.82

Communism deprives no man of the power to appropriate the products of society; all that it does is to deprive him of the power to subjugate the labour of others by means of such appropriations.

I go Messi.....although there is no denying Ronaldo is also one of the greats. My argument has always been Messi is more a team player than Ronaldo. Your stats although occasionally ridiculed by some one ( ;) ) show that Messi is way out in front of Ronaldo in assists and with a 150 games less and only 29 goals scored behind him. What are those stats going to show when Messi has reached 950 games the same as Ronaldo has played.

Hold on a minute. I would love to see Juventus do Liverpool in the final, now that would be lip smackingly delicious.
