Re: The Transfer rumours have started here post !
I notice that Rakitic is available for about 18m from a Barca trying to sign Neymar. Wonder if he likes England ?

That would be some coup.
But I hope for the sake of my 9 year old grandson who loves Barcelona, but can't stand the Brazilian diving champion, the Neymar deal falls through.

The issue with the Byram fee was that we paid for potential and what we got was injury and disappointment.
Realistically we had to sell whatever the fee. This way we get £750k + £1.5m in saved wages.
If we'd kept him he either sits on the bench or goes out on loan.
Hugill's a different kettle of fish. Even in a world where Tyrone Mings is a £20m player and Lewis Dunk is worth £45m, we overpaid by 50%. At his absolute best Hugill was worth no more than 3 or 4 million.
It wasn't an Andy Carroll sized waste of time and money, but scaled down it's not far off.

Communism deprives no man of the power to appropriate the products of society; all that it does is to deprive him of the power to subjugate the labour of others by means of such appropriations.

Me too. Him playing off of (hopefully) Haller should allow him to play his natural poacher role rather than having to come deep or go wide all the time like he's had to do recently.palerider wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 10:06 amI think the pea will stay.IronsForever wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 10:03 amPellegrini was handed a 30 Million war chest plus exits. That now stands around 39 million left and rising.. Pedro and Chico should fetch close to 20 Million. Hugil for 3 , Oxford 3. Leaves Pellegrini around 62 Million to play with IF Obiang and Chico go. We will need 2 strikers and one midfielder. Probably find the Mid player on loand and focus on 2 strikers.
I.d go with the Brentford guy as back up for 18 Million. Leaves over 40 Million for the no.1 striker.

Rounding to the nearest whole numbers makes them pointless.

Hugill's off to Wigan for about £3.6 or £3.8M depending on which article you read. About his level in all honesty, but with him and Byram getting shipped out surely we're going to need some more homegrown players no?

Sassuolo in for Obiang for £8m. Trouble here is the Italian clubs who are interested in Obiang don't seem to have quite enough to crack that £10m valuation.
