Phillipy Anderson

Post by Gonzo » Sun May 12, 2019 10:45 pm

What a player, he glides across the pitch like Torvil & Dean (well one of them anyway).

A classy and elegant player who is surely going to light up the Premier League next season. Taking into account the settling in period and the fact that for a lot of the season he was our only creative player he's been a huge success.

I only saw the last 35 mins of the game today and I know it was against 10 men but he was floating around and generally looking top class.

Lot's of if's & buts's however with a fit(ish) squad and a couple of new additions I think we'll have a real player next season.

Tell knob head Numbers that.

His class and like you say,he`ll be better next year.It takes a lot of players a year to settle.Take Henry at Arsenal and Bernard Silva at City, they weren't great in their first year.

With one or two additions and a few players having proper pre seasons after injury,we could have a very good season next time round.

The only one bordering next level & world class in our team as we were promised.

Does need to find some consistency though.

The juries still out for me, his body language tells me he is not 100% happy also, I fail to see where he has struck up an understanding with anyone of our players, an outstanding individual sometimes but its not enough, free kicks aside, the frenchman had a fantastic understanding with Cresswell and Lanzini in the last season at UP, caused every team a problem down our left ala Brooking Devonshire.

Has an initial burst of pace to get away from a marker, but not enough to stay ahead.

Most of his passes are of the wrong strength.

Bit Emperors New Clothes to me.." If he cost £40m he must be good."

I'd almost forgotten about Yarmalenko. Good to have options and I think if we'd have had him, Lanzini and Jack fit all season we'd have done the treble.

I would add Balbuena/ Diop and Rice to that little list of next level players .
