The thing is this. He is what 23? He has a sell on value. Can Pellegrini improve him enough to make an impact in Premiership? The lad CAN improve and Will improve. For 29 Million id say buy him. As i said a few teams have looked at him so (1) He cant be that bad and (2) he does have a sell on value. If Arnie stays he will be a lively partner.

Looking forward to seeing how Arnie does under the pressure if we do sign Gomez. Will he crumble and throw his toys out of the pram via his brother or will he step his game up and compete for the striking position?

Interesting times to be a West Ham fan!

(1) He was that bad
(2) Sure he has a sell on value......but its less than half of what we paid for him.....

HA HA Good Old Hugil. Whats he up to these days? LOL
Actually that was a Moyes signing. Probably one of the key reasons they never gave him a war chest with a new contract LOL

I think most if us would take Haller over Gomez, but obviously Pelle and Husillos see something in him.

Diop for £45m would be a nice turnaround. We could pick up Maripan and one of the young CBs we've been linked with and still have change. Personally I'd quote them £60m and settle for £50m, those cunts can afford it. :D
Personally nev, I wouldn’t sell him at all, if we r to build something special I think u could do worse than build around diop. He will eventually go to much better teams
But let’s try and keep him for 2-3yrs.
I agree in principle, mate, but with a budget of £30m we're not building anything special.
If we get good money we get a good replacement, plus one for the future, and a big chunk towards that quality striker we want.
If the £30m is a swerve and we've really got 60/70 mil, I'm with you, don't sell.

Been doing a gonzo and watched a few youtube videos.

Think Belotti would be better than Gomez.

I firmly believe the 30M sovs is hogwash, its been bandied about to try and stop clubs thinking we have much more to spend.

The Guardian have another take on the story.

Celta have NOT accepted any bid and are still wanting close to the 43m release fee, they're using West Ham and Valencia as an auctioning tool to up the price.

The player himself is said to favour Champions League football which Valencia can offer and in any case would want assurances that he'd be a first choice ahead of Arnie.

Crouchy it is then.

Dont wanna be rude but aint it fucking amazing people whove seen players for a few minutes on dvd are saying things like they dont rate him. I bet Husilos and Pelle have seen these blokes live and know a lot more about them than us.

I agree. But I don't think we'll get the bloke anyway. Sky seem to have jumped the gun with the rumour and not for the first time.
