Dave , an afterthought but panic isn’t required yet mate . There are at least 8 teams worse than us . I can understand to a degree after last August/September but were already a point in front mate.
It can’t be worse than last season can it ?

Once the cockney reds back bleeding his claret & blue everything will be fine .
I know cos Pellegrini told me

Failing that “jack” will transform into the most wonderful defensive midfielder the premier”ship” has ever seen .

My arse    shakeass

Now it’s not a secret that I don’t think mr noble is all what it says on the tin but FFS if we are waiting for him to come back and inject some much needed bollocks in the midfield ( and I think he will ) then how much trouble are we in and what the fuck is pel and his merry men looking at 🙄

And don't forget Sakho. People wanted him run out of town even though his goals to game record is the best since the dwarf bought the club. Only just higher than Perez, and we shouldn't forget Perez's 19 "games" weren't all the full 90 minutes by a long stretch.

We looked in trouble last season with Noble AND Rice. I thought like Pellegrini the midfield of Rice, Whilshire , Lanzini and Fornals would be a formidable unit but its clear it,s not going to work. Once we get Noble OR Sanchez in their with Rice it will allow Whilshire to move forward a tad and play more inbeteween their lines, not in that vulnerable slot on the center circle where possession turn over is our Achilles heel.

Our defenders were shit and I can only hope that Noble can come back and inject some positional sense. I think it's time we pushed Lanzini to an attacking 10 role behind whoever is striker and take away his midfield, ball winning role. He needs to be in hole behind the striker with the freedom to move either way. Fornals is going to come good, I have little doubt of that, but he will need a few games to adjust to his new teammates and the prem. Don't forget he had an abbreviated pre-season, so I wouldn't rush to judgement in mid August on him.

Had a few days to think about it.

A few things come to mind.

We are not fit and don't work hard enough in comparison to other teams.

Too many light weight technical players. We are just getting bullied.

Without Noble,we lack a leader on the pitch.Maybe a few would laugh, but I would make Snodgrass the captain in his absence.

Not much different from last year.

We just need a couple of players that get stuck in and mix it up a bit.If that happens,we could be a very good team.
