West Ham vs Crystal Palace Official Match Thread

Post by Ibbyham » Tue Oct 01, 2019 11:07 am

Following our good point at Bournemouth, good news that Lanzini will be a starter in the line-up. I hope Fabianski will be back for the Xmas period. We need to support Roberto and hope he will be WELL-PREPARED for this derby game.

Squad:

Roberto

Fredericks
Diop
Ogbonna
Cresswell

Noble
Rice

Yarmolenko
Lanzini
Anderson

Haller

Hope it will be a good game for us and BEWARE.....Crystal Palace has decent away record so as Pellegrini said, the players should perform from the start to the end.

We've only lost one of the last ten games against them (4 draws) scoring twenty goals during that run.

Funnily enough we only scored in one of the previous six games before that.

Three of the last four games have been draws.

We haven't scored four goals against them since December 1997 when John Hartson, Eyal Berkovic, David Unsworth & Steve Lomas did the honours in a 4-1 win.

Hardly the point people are making. But in any case I wonder how many slagging him off on the various social media platforms have actually seen him play.

Roberto needs the fans full support on Saturday, when he runs out give him a big cheer. No doubt he would have seen fans giving him shit on social media. He's an experienced keeper, he can't be that bad.

Roberto
Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell
Noble, Rice
Yarmolenko, Lanzini, Anderson
Haller

Would like to see Holland make the bench.

I always get nervous with these games as i expect us to win and that's normally when it goes wrong!

It's encouraging that whilst that may have been the default eleven at the beginning of the season... there is much more confidence in several of them than there was then.

No but he is our goalkeeper so sneer all you like but we should be supporting the guy and as said, most of the plastic fans giving him grief have only seen him play half a fucking game at best.

Neither was Adrian, but he was cheered and encouraged no less.

Ffs give the guy a chance, from what I’ve seen he is no worse than Adrian.

It’s not what you do it is the way that you do it.

Only forced change will be Roberto..and I'm sure he will cope well enough. It all depends if the backline have enough confidence in him...remember the calamity Joe Hart.. we leaked goals because of a lack of confidence in him. Roberto deserves the backing, when he hears 60000 fans cheering him on it will do his confidence a world of good.
Lanzini in for Fornals, just because he is a better player, although Fornals needs to grab another 20 mins or so game time. The rest, as is, with Cresswell deservedly retaining his place. ( I wouldn't be surprised to see him with the England squad this time round, he may not be the first pick but he could well be mixing with the big boys next week ).
Going for a 3-1 win, Haller, Yammy and Noble to score.
