Bishop was a typical silky WHU footballer for sure.
MACARI signing
MACARI had a good eye for players back then btw

There are quite a few City fans of a certain age who would say the 5-1 rout of United at Maine Road in 1989, in which Ian Bishop was arguably man of the match, was their favourite memory, even more so than the Aguero moment, because back then they hadn't had a team built by bottomless pockets.

Always a big favourite of mine, lifter or not (and I think not).
I've never taken to Moncur.
I guess it started the day he brownosed Cantona for his shirt that year at the theatre of mancs

Bish was quality imo. Stood out in what was a very poor side. But Moncur ? Total cunt of a footballer. A red card waiting to happen. Wasn't he sent off once for a couple of stupid challenges within the space of a few minutes not long after coming on.

And still there were a load of silly cunts gave him an ovation as he walked off.

Good player but another total prick imo. Had the ability to represent his country but his temperament always let him down. I remember after a game at Derby, which we won after he'd been sent off, when Billy Bonds who was manager at the time said he'd had 10 heroes out there and one idiot. Summed him up imo.

If you want passion Bonds was your man, not the other pair of pricks. Only mho of course. ;)

Mad Dog....he was the one...uh ho.. as you saw him lining someone up..but loved him, cracking
player...

I liked Moncs TBH ..but was a red card waiting to happen..

Dicksy was an Enigma...brilliant player, but had a dark side in the tackle...and was often caught
out of position...

MFers...loved Stewart Robson...had it all,but yet another Gooner we got with Injury probs..
but when fit and playing one of the best I've seen.

King Billy would be sent off within 20 mins of every game now...like Nobes said you can't go to
ground anymore....you risk it even with a clear cut ball win.
