I can't understand why we accepted this as a fixture date. Surely it would have made more sense for us for this fixture to be delayed further. Surely we don't have to just meekly accept whatever Citeh proposed or do they get priority as the home side in the decision making process? Does anyone know the rules governing the situation!

Likewise I can't understand why we agreed to the Liverpool fixture change at home a few weeks ago. Surely it would have made more sense to schedule that fixture for late April/early May when they have won the league and hopefully are concentrating on winning both the Champions League (again) and the FA cup

Might be to our advantage.
Our first team might still be on holiday. :)

Re arranged fixture

Post by casher007 » Wed Feb 12, 2020 8:39 am

on the podcast yesterday , Gonzo and Geo criticised why the city game was being played in the mid winter break. I suspect this is sky sports doing as they wanted to get some mileage out of the money they paid for the fixture, enables them to put it against the champions league.

Probably the only date it could be played tbh. It couldn't have been played the following week, because City's game with Real Madrid is on then. Then the week after that they've got an F A Cup match, being played midweek because of the Mickey Mouse Cup Final on Sunday, then there's the return game with Real Madrid the week after that.

Just as well imo. Imagine it being rearranged late in the season with us needing to avoid defeat by more than 3 goals to stay up.

TRADITION--Just because we've always done it like this doesn't mean it's not incredibly SILLY
