The FA have a vested interest in the PL Tone, written into the constitution back in 93. Apparently it does indeed state that relegation and promotion are set in stone. Although how that would stand scrutiny when Lord Fitchett Matravers QC stands up in the the High Court and puts the case for his esteemed client Naaaarch City Football Club and their wrongful relegation when Stevenage, a club in the same footballing pyramid weren't dealt the same fate.

Sky will be watching closely of course and a few phone calls will be made.

Hello, Premier League ? We need our tummy tickled. Just start the thing. What's that ? Seven positive tests ? I'm sorry, it's a bad line.

Sky are desperate. For anything to be meaningful and to sell it to Joe Public they need the relegation battle. With the victims already stealing the lead off church roofs in anticipation of the title they need something they can give a ridiculous name to and promote on their screens every 5 minutes.

I quite like the Virus Vendetta.....Judgement Day.

It's crass and insensitive, just up Sky's street, and thick fat twats on armchairs throughout the land will love it.

Because the alternative, with no relegation would be like watching those end of season charity games with Gerard Butler and Francesco Totti, Sir Alex and 'Arry as managers. You watch for a bit as novelty value then turn over for Springwatch as it's actually really shit.

Despite whatever warnings otherwise, the PL will restart.

Sky created a monster. And they can't let Lord Matravers let it loose.
Good post Al.
Without any fans in attendance it's a non-event for me, regardless of relegation or not. I won't be watching any football until the fans are back.
Absolutely fucking spot on - I won't be drinking any beers, until I can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with my fellow man...

More players speaking out now. How dare they put themselves first. What about the millions who will not be able to watch on TV?.
The paymasters will not be happy.

Heard Durham on Talksport having a bit of a go at Troy for not wanting to play.

Let`s not forget,Talksport are Murdoch`s mouthpiece and are a part of his Empire,so are desperate for Sky to get it back on.

Morally though he is wrong.Troy said, his prepared NOT to be paid,so why has he the right to have a go at him.

Durham does/did have his own opinions and except that, but since Murdoch took over, his opinions have all been in favour of Sky and their product.

Edit: Trivia question there. Anyone remember which TV series that last comment came from?

I see League 2 have voted to finish season now, top 3 as are promoted, no relegation and only games to be played are those teams in play off positions for last promotion place.

Wonder if final will still be at Wembley?

More leagues will follow.
That will please the people I know who support Stevenage who were well adrift at the bottom of the league when it ended. But surely one club has to come in when everything starts up again to replace Bury. ?

Adrian Durham is the numbers of talk sport.
He goes against the grain time and again, just to rile the listeners.
I'd like to see him have a pop.at Deeny to his face.
He's probably fed up with being told what to do by his missus on a Saturday.
