That's the Budesliga. I remember when ITV4 showed Monday night highlights.Every bloody week, you have ads unbelievably inserted every 10 mins and the broadcast would run for 60 mins. Let me tell you,it felt like 90 mins.

Fucking terrible. Was pleased when ITV lost the contract. Don't know if it was the Bundesliga or ITV4 that made the experience revolting. I suspect it was ITV, for all their football coverage, has been rank since the year dot.

BT put this up, so people can judge for themselves. Five minutes, so it might be endurable

I have missed football terribly, my sons and I watched the Dortmund Vs Schalke game Saturday.

Like watching Citeh v West Ham, one way traffic.

Only realised reason Schalke so dreadful when they showed Wagner the ex Huddersfield manager all became clear then.

My verdict, weird experience but will watch again next Saturday PM to get my football fix.

It’s not what you do it is the way that you do it.

I watch some of the Bundesliga games live this weekend and must say that it was all very stale, with now fan noise and muted goal celebrations. It all had the feel of a training ground scrimmage.

Report on Germany’s first closed-doors Bundesliga game.
Sounds an absolute blast !!

This bit stood out for me in that report.....

“ However, the match looked as normal as ever, with players not hesitant to engage in physical duels or getting close to each other in the moments before a corner kick. But after a goal, the players kept distance to celebrate.”

A good read.

www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2020/ ... ncial-risk

I think it should be the players, coaches,Officials etc that should be deciding..They should get the vote, not the twats in the suits(Chairmen,tv companies,PL) who are thinking of just one thing, their own pockets.

I watched the Bundesliga and the whole thing is a farce.Has I have said before, you are being conned by the PL,Sky & BT in being sold a product that dosen`t properly exist, taking us all for fools.

Basically agree. But finishing the season like that is a better way of sorting things out than those silly points per game ideas.

TRADITION--Just because we've always done it like this doesn't mean it's not incredibly SILLY

The other component which needs to be acknowledged,is that some players would look forward to a break from the family after nine weeks. A return to male bonding and the environment that supplies.

The risk of returning home with a virus would be very small,as they will all be tested prior to doing so. It's not as if they are travelling home between games, they are sequestered away for the duration.

I know :)
Full contact, grappling etc but 2 metre distance celebrations.
Some of the distancing rules are probably just for show.
“Show”.... the irony of that word because from what I’ve read it was anything but.
And as Gonzo said in his video...... (paraphrasing) far from providing morale-boosting escapism, these sorry spectacles are just ramming home more depressing and visual reminders of COVID-19 than ever.
