Everton’s Shirt Sleeve Sponsorship Could Pave Way For Future Deals
Image

Everton are enjoying a strong season in the Premier League so far under the guidance of Dutch boss Ronald Koeman, but their recent off-the-field business has seen them potentially pave the way for a new wave of shirt sponsorship deals.

The Toffees are flying high in the top half of the top-flight standings and look more than capable of maintaining that position until the end of the campaign. The likes of Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkley and Gareth Barry have been impressive for the Merseyside outfit domestically.

Koeman’s men are enjoying success on the pitch at Goodison Park, as they sit in a promising position in the football betting odds for the remainder of the campaign, and they are set to benefit financially from earlier deals made by the club’s hierarchy.

Everton are set to receive a mammoth £75m commercial enhancement after acquiring a new sponsorship package for the team’s kit and training ground. The club’s chief executive, Robert Elstone, said that the companies involved will be announced in the near future, as they also aim for a huge multi-million pound shirt sleeve sponsor for next term.

Sweet £75 million in place for Toffees

Speaking recently during a club gathering, Mr Elstone announced that the deals already obtained will run for a beneficial five years, with Everton possibly set to profit from such funds in the transfer market over the next few seasons.

“The other thing is a three-fold increase in the value of our shirt sponsorship and we will release that new partner in due cause,” he stated.
“We’re also hopeful we will secure a good deal for the shirt sleeve property. It’s real, tangible progress.”

Everton leading way for new sleeve deals?

In England’s top division, there is already a vast amount of money involved with every club. The financial incentives for Championship clubs aiming to be promoted to the Premier League are gigantic, with sponsorship deals being worth substantial amounts. Through the years, fans have witnessed their clubs undergo new deals and seen a host of new organisations proudly print their logo across the front of specific team’s shirts.

Through the years, fans have witnessed their clubs undergo new deals and seen a host of new organisations proudly print their logo across the front of specific team’s shirts.

However, Everton’s new deal will see them don jerseys which feature new sponsors on the sleeves as well. Every little bit of space is being utilised to make a profit for the club, and it should see them benefit with funds being made available to strengthen their ranks with new signings.

Could this be a sign of things to come? Will we soon see every club in the Premier League take new sponsors on board up their shirt sleeves? It’s a bold business move from Everton and it looks likely of catching on in the near future.

Rule change in Premier League benefits Everton

This sudden move from the Merseysiders comes after a change in the rules regarding the Premier League. For many seasons, the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar have had sponsors splashed on their biceps, with Barcelona being one side to boast sleeve sponsors. Bayern Munich are another club to do so, while PSG also benefit from such a deal.

England’s top-flight previously banned such sponsorship but that has changed in 2017. Everton are the first to capitalise, but the likes of Manchester United can expect to make huge profits by jumping on board football’s new arm race. With teams in Spain’s La Liga, France’s Ligue 1 and the Chinese Super League already offering their sleeve space, the Premier League is now playing catch up and Everton are leading the way for the coming seasons.

Why can`t we release our shirt early?

We normally have to wait till late June/early July for both our kits.
