This is excellent news, I didn't know anything about the fella before I started making a video about him but he is a very good player.

The thought of Payet, Faghouli and Lanzini playing behind this boy will give defenses nightmares. Don't be surprised if we see some of the most skillful play at West Ham for a long time next season.

Anyone know what the stipulations are on a work permit for someone coming to the UK from South America

And there are reports on Twitter that Bacca has agreed to join.

Not sure I want him now.

I'm reminded of an old joke.

A bloke's in Caesars Palace trying to impress his girlfriend and sees Frank Sinatra at the bar.

He goes up to him and says 'Frank. Huge fan, but could you do me a big favour. I'm trying to impress a lady and it would be amazing if she thinks you know me.'

Sinatra agrees. ten minutes later goes up to their table.

'John ! great to see you buddy, how are you ?'

'Fuck off Frank, can't you see I'm busy ?'

It's a bloody quagmire, especially for players who haven't competed in the requisite amount of 1st team games for their country. However I believe that if we were to sign Calleri then we'd have to appeal to get him a permit and a specific set of criteria then come in to effect. The number of league games he's played and game time in the Copa Libertadores would be taken in to account. Add to that the club would argue the 'exceptional talent' rule and I'd stick my neck out and say he probably would be granted a permit, especially since he's from a strong footballing nation (another criteria) rather than somewhere like Suriname for example.

Either that or the twat can just hurry up and get his Italian passport.

Rounding to the nearest whole numbers makes them pointless.

Don't think he got one otherwise wouldn't need a work permit, hence Sevilla not being able to pursue him further as they already have 3 non eu players.
But as he is in the Olympics squad and practically met criteria for the passport, it'll be fine and dandy.

No fee agreed though like Lanzini.

Never represented Argentina before being named in the Olympic squad so don't be surprised if this goes south like the deal we did for somebody a couple of years ago and got blown out of the water by a work permit being denied

Apparently Bacca is going to give us an answer in 48hrs. That's good of him. Why do I feel we should be giving this one a very wide swerve?
