Might be a bully but I can still remember him going in goal when we beat Newcastle 8-1 back in 1986 and the South Bank crowd giving it large singing "we all agree, Beardsley is better than Shilton". He took it all in good spirit as I recall. It's called banter. Maybe some of the little shrinking violets would do well to remember what banter is or it might be lost forever. Which would be a shame. Not to mention fucking up Fridays down the pub.

Bang out of order BD. I can't be bothered to look it up but I bet there is a ism somewhere to go on the end of a word to describe people with a speech impediment. You just crossed the line old boy, hang your head in shame. He is an ugly bastard though. :)

Morning,

I havnt been following this story and this is the reason why, I watched a clip on the news when the story broke, at the end the newsreader then said that Mr Beardsley categorically denies the allegations.

Since then I have been going into a trance, I have a picture in my head of Peter desperately trying to say the word "categorically" in his own unique style of Geordie. :D

Try it.

IMO,the liberal society of Britain is "obsessed" with not offending the minorities in this country.
I do remember what it was like in the times, when Racialism in this country was obscene and this country I would say is the least racialist in the world now.But IMO the minorities now take advantage of this and use it when possible.

I don't know the details Terry but there is a broader issue.

From my own part I do believe that I'm becoming less tolerant.

It was never thus back in the day.

I grew up in a genuine multicultural area in Ilford. White, black, Irish, Indian and a few Chinese family's. My child minder was Sikh and my best pal was a refugee from Laos.

When I was 23 I lived with and was engaged to a girl from St Lucia who I loved dearly. It's also worth pointing out that I was best man a a gay wedding and the girl who asked me is also my son's godmother.

Point is that bigotry is not my default setting however I've had enough.

Had enough of Islam being forced down my throat. Enough of being told that male and female is a social construct. Enough of seeing comedy constantly censored for fear of causing offence. Enough of the same old platitudes being trotted out each time we're attacked in the name of Islam and enough of being told by the media to feel guilty because I'm white.

Now we have the new wave of namnypambyism. Nonces are to be considered as victims. Only last week Lily Allen tweeted that the 1300 child victims of Muslim grooming gangs in Rotherham would 'probably have been raped anyway.
A Labour MP who's name escapes me said that the victims of the grooming gangs should 'shut up for the benefit of diversity'. ....... she still has her job as a member of parliament.

Children are now being taught in schools that transgender is an option despite that group having the highest suicide rate if any (40%). I have no problem with an adult finding their own way but to hoist this nonsense onto 11 year olds is cruel. Shops are trying so hard to be genderless that that a giant like John Lewis no longer sell Boys and Girls clothes because we're all the same apparently.

Every argument or price of evidence used to counter the progressive left rhetoric is met with cries of sexist or racist.

The world is going mad and I'm sick of it.

This Gonzo is why I had to leave the uk, I couldn't stand that my country was being taken over and we , white, Christian British people had no more rights in our own country. I too had many friends from different cultures and also "tried" to employ them. After I was told to take the office Christmas decorations down because it did not agree with their Muslim culture, I gave up, I have never been a racialist, homophobic, and hope I never will be, I travel a lot and visit countries when I enter those countries I abide by their laws, if you want to live in the UK, Live there by all means but why try to change our culture to your own and why to the government allow this....

Mum used to work at Trebor in Wanstead (As did that rascal Dorset DanO). She wasn't an official child minder in all in honesty but I used to go around after school whilst waiting for my folks to get back from work.

What a cook she was too ........ you'd have loved that grub Tone.

I think we might have been a bit posh though because we had a VHS player before any other cunt in the flats. 8-)

I remember sticking bubble gum into that little write-hole on the VHS cassette to get it to record something but the bubble gum dried up and fell out.
I wanted to deliver a hilarious anecdote about it causing an explosion and setting fire to the curtains but I’d be lying.

The only thing that happened was that it didn’t record what I set it for (“The Stud” featuring Joan Collins) so was thus left with Sally James on Tiswas for wanking material.......... again !
