Eyal Berkovic or Yossi Benayoun

Postby Flairon » Sat Jan 13, 2018 12:58 pm

Both were exciting players for us. Eyal scored something like 10 goals in 65 fames, but supplied many more. I was sorry to see he leave tbh, but the unfortunate incident with Hartson sadly sealed that deal.

Their stats are very similar with Yossi scoring 8 goals in 63 games for the Hammers and supplying many more.

We could certainly use someone of their calibre right now. It is hard to pick between them, but I favour Yossi slightly.

Who do you think was the better player?

I’m saying Berkovic purely because Benayoun was on the verge of signing a contract then fucked off to Liverpool. Otherwise, it’s a tough call.

Did either of them eat pork? That’ll help the argument for me

Berkovic cos he came to us instead of Spuds .

Seriously though I can’t choose between em and we badly need another player of a similar ilk right now .

Berkovic.
I remember his home debut against spuds! He played superbly and we won :D
He was a player who produced moments of brilliance and set up chances for Kitson,Hartson and Dowie :i am genuinely amused:
Yossi was decent but not as good as Eyel!IMO obviously ;)

That was a different era when training was fun and full of tricks and flicks: remember when Ewal was horsing about and called Hartson a "sheep-shagger" and John volleyed Eyal full in the face - take that, you jew faced cunt he joked.

...a different era when the squad had real camaraderie and genuine affection for each other...
