Hammer of the Year - Early contenders

Postby Hildreth_1101 » Tue Feb 13, 2018 7:49 pm

It's early I know, I am just interested to see what the view is from here?

Personally I think Collins has been immense all season long, I am looking at him as my favourite. Otherwise, Arnie's 2nd half of the season form if it continues might make him the HOTY, Lanzini in with a shout - Also a big fan of Zabaleta for his professional attitude.

What do you guys think?

Zabaleta for me. Arnautovic has done well recently but the season is 27 games old, not 8.

Ogbonna, Ginge & Noble all impressive. Cases for Adrian and Lanzini perhaps and if Hernandez keeps scoring then he might be a late contender.

Who actually votes?
Zabaleta might be a bit slower than when in his prime but you can see the class he has and still puts in 100%.
Arnie scores another 3 or 4 goals and keeps the team up then the early part of the season will be forgotten .
Adrian always a fan's favourite, must have been gutted when the daves got Hart, but its driving him on to perform as one of the best keepers in the prem.
I reckon Arnie.

Adrian at the moment uncontested . Has proved hand over fist that Hart was never required and was just brought here to satisfy Sullivan’s ego .
The Serb will be a contender if he proves to be consistent until the end of the season .

If you’d asked me before Xmas I would probably have said Zabaleta but although you can still see the class his legs have gone .
Harsh but true .

Adrian for me.

Adrian - key contender just to stick 2 fingers up at Sullivan and his anti dandruff buddy but he’s done very well and owns that space between the sticks.

Zabaleta - always gives 100%. Bit slow now but bear in mind Geo wins lots of money for charity if he gets it.

Arnie - I think Arnie will get it. He’s the more exciting player out of the 3 so will be a more automatic choice for most provided he keeps up these performances.

Overall,I would have to go for Ogbonna.

His been our most consistent player this season.

Didn't want him at the club, but since he's arrived everything has improved, my vote goes to Mr Moyes, before his appointment I couldn't of picked one player from the whole squad who deserved the title Hammer of the year

Obiang.

Closely followed by Noble.

Then Hart.

It could all change before the end of the season though.

Despite his slow start and subsequent injury I still think it's Arnie's to lose. Collins was supposed to be a 3rd choice CB cover and he's been the main reason we're not leaking goals under Moyes so he should be in with a shout too.
