The boys and Southgate have done us proud.
Croatia deserved to win. It was a mistake to sit back after getting the early goal. They got better as the game went along while we kept losing possession.

Also 2/3 of our players didn't turn up. Maybe they were mentally exhausted.
To be honest I don't hold much hope for us to beat Belgium either.

Well done Croatia and good luck on Sunday.

Alan Hansen was right.

Take a walk round Welwyn Garden City town centre after midnight on Friday mate and you'll see a few like him, pissed out of their heads. ;) ;)

Joking aside, they did far better than expected but lacked a) big-game players, i.e. players who've played in tense high-pressure matches at the highest level with the necessary experience, and b) that 'quarter-back' player who can dictate the flow. Scouse arse that he is, if Gerrard in his prime was in that team we'd be getting the beers in for the final.

Alli and Lingard are too similar. To be critical which I admit may sound churlish, who did we beat comfortably ?

Panama, no better than a pub team, and Sweden who were toothless yet even then forced Pickford into three world-class saves.

I was critical of Sterling throughout yet last night Southgate took him off when he was the one player causing Croatia problems in attack. Rashford looked lost. It was almost as if Gareth had seen all the media criticism of the gangsta and thought it must be the thing to do. If he was going to replace anyone it should have been Brucie.

As always happens, we lost our bottle on the night. Maybe we scored too early. But the way we started the second half, you could almost have imagined that Allardyce had been smuggled into the dressing room for the team talk.

But it was good while it lasted. And I couldn't stomach being turned over by the Frogs anyway. Good luck in the final Croatia....you'll need it.

I just hope this young team learn from their mistakes. And be much braver.

Oh...And that Southgate plays a proper left-back in future, not that cunt Young.

I dont understand why it is said or implied that it was a mistake not to take a more experienced player who has gone through it before. We had a whole bunch of them in the past an failed abismally. If anyone can hold their hand up and honestly say they expected us to get this far then i would almost be inclined to say it was a lie.

We now have the foundation for improvement, Southgate appears to have breathed some freshness back into our squad starting from scratch rather than relying on media options and the same old faces', we now learn from this and build upon it.

Southgate himself is , as i am sure he would admit, still learning and hopefully he will have learnt from last nights game, don't lay back on a single goal lead. Also his achilles heal seems to be Sterling, maybe his pace blinds him to his lack of end product. Sterling might aswell be a fly trapped in a glass jar frantically trying to escape through a small hole left in the lid., tries hard flapping about but fails miserably. In him all i see is a glory hunter who would be best served taking a leaf out of Kanes book.

A good person does things in silence, others strive to be seen as good so scream out their deeds.
