My statements are validated with fact.
As im involved with the biggest transport of our fans for away games...It might be one of the few areas i actually know what im taking about.

You name me one team that can sell 10k for an FA cup game up North no problem...without the club having to put on cheap transport ?
You're missing the point. If we was still at UP and had a home, how many would have gone?

I go to every away game and I don't remember the last time we didn't fill an away allocation ;)

Cheers for that....there was me that was talking about taking thousands in the FA Cup and the last time we played up north with a big allocation we were still playing at the Boleyn.

I can see why others have no time for you fella :roll:

No need to apologise.
Just google 80’s attendances and you will see all clubs suffered. 80’s football was hardly the stuff for a family day out.

Numbers wouldn’t know how many go to away games as his mum won’t let him.

I will normally go to 2-3 away games a season and I can tell you it getting much harder to get tickets.

It’s not what you do it is the way that you do it.

I referenced the away support earlier.
To be clear, our away support is only good because most fans attending away matches will not go to home matches (no home, sanstised, tourists etc), so away games are the only chance they get to watch their team.
We have had plenty of times through the years where away support allocations have not been sold out.

This 'best fans about' is all a bit Newcastle-ish for my liking.

As stated earlier, we had below full home attendances regularly in the 80's, 90,s, before we had to start inviting tourists and doing 'kids for a quid' to sell out.

Was 'kids for a quid' and children's seasons tickets for £90 started in the 00's because the owners were decent people or because they couldn't sell out?
Go and have a look at ALL the support from the 1980's and you will see we are in the TOP 10 of best supported clubs..In the early 80`s,in the 2nd Tier,it was only 5 or 6 that were better supported than us..I am old enough to remember them facts mate.

I was looking for our average when we were in Division 2 in 1980/81,but couldn`t find it,so I found the year after.

https://www.worldfootball.net/attendanc ... 81-1982/1/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

6TH BEST SUPPORTED TEAM

https://www.worldfootball.net/attendanc ... 82-1983/1/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

7TH BEST SUPPORTED TEAM

https://www.worldfootball.net/attendanc ... 83-1984/1/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

5TH BEST SUPPORTED TEAM.

In the 1980's we were well supported,but I agree it did drop off in the 90's,but don`t forget many were rebuilding after the Taylor Report.

Lets not forget Terry when it was turn styles and every now and then the guy would let 2 in for 1 getting a back hander.
27 thousand in them days were more like 29 or 30.
In the game against Tibilisi the chicken run was overloaded and the stewards had no choice but to sit the kids the other side of the barrier.

Here you go:

https://www.worldfootball.net/attendanc ... 74-1975/1/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Average Attendance: 30.077 - 7th best.

TBF, all attendances dropped significantly in the 80's.

We are currently ranked 4th.
