Surely there can't be more than one, although numbers did 'once' say that they would never post on here again :D

Summer Signings - Value For Money

Postby 12121 » Tue Oct 09, 2018 10:39 am

What summer signings are proving good value for money?

Wilshere - Free but makes the team worse, so a no.
Fredericks - No.
Anderson - Showed nothing expected from a £40 million player. No.
Yarmalenko - Looks a one trick pony, so sadly a no.
Balbuena - Yes, so far.
Diop -I guess his fee would put him in the top 20 most expensive centre halves ever and he has not looked like a centre half among the top 20 ever, so no.
Fabianski -Yes. Good signing.

Fabianski and Balbuena have been top top value for money, has Harry would say.

Diop, has been value too and he will treble his worth.Trust me

Anderson and Yarmalenlo have showed they have quality and will only improve.

Wilshire was on a free,so it`s just wages we are splashing out.We know he has the quality,we may or may not see it ,who knows because of his injury record.

Fredericks is still young and learning..Got blistering pace,so has plenty of time on his side.

I am quite happy.

We could sell Wilshere for £10M if he doesn't work out which is probably why he was signed. Anderson was signed for an intial fee of £35M rising to £42M depending on his performance. Yamolenko was signed from Dortmund for £18M and represents a punt considering Dortmund paid £22.5M

After 8 games, only Anderson looks pricey, but even if his value dipped, a sale of Wilshere would cover the loss.

...and even Lucas Perez at £4M might cover his costs...eventually

For me it's:

Fabianski--Along with Balbuena probably the best vfm
Balbuena---see above
Diop---I'm fairly sure his West Ham career will, sadly, be a brief one. Destined for bigger and better things imo.
Yarmolenko---Ridiculous as it may sound £17 million is peanuts in today's market place so a decent punt.
Anderson---hasn't pulled up any trees but has been more than adequate imo. Not yet justified the price tag but it's early days.
Perez---Not seen much of him but on the evidence so far squad filler at best.
Fredericks---as above
Wilshere---as above

But the last three were cheap in terms of fees and if we feel we aren't getting vfm for the salaries paid for Wiilshere and Fredericks I guess we could charge a decent-ish fee because they're English.

If it looks like a cunt, walks like a cunt, and talks like a cunt it's either Boris Johnson or Jeremy Corbyn.

Flappy and the General look a snip straight away .
My 7 year old could defend better than Fredericks .
WilTshere . I was asking what he brings to the team at the start of the season , what his job is ? ... but that was until Pellegrini was forced to stumble upon the 3 stopper system .

I don’t think he’d get back in instead of Noble anyway but as far as Wilshere is concerned it’s early days and too soon to judge.
As it is with Anderson and Diop though I think both have shown promise .
I agree Yarmolenko is a one trick pony but he’s a very good one trick pony so I’m happy so far ...

And Perez hasn’t had a chance yet but for £4m I expect him to prove a snip too.

So overall I’m content at the moment and I’m more concerned about our overall full back and DM positions .

I’m eating lumps of the humble stuff re Flabianski and I’m ashamed to say gloatingly in told-you-so mode regards Fredericks .

Pellegrini must have been on the rice wine when he was watching Fulham’s championship games in that Chinese hotel room.
