To be honest I had never heard of Diop before he came to us, but it was for sure a Mr P signing and in Mr P I trust. Like Neville I wouldn't swap him, and surely now his value has increased. Balbuena on the other hand, I have seen a lot of him over here and many Corinthians fans were upset that he was sold. When he signed I remember commenting that he will never be the star of the team but he will do his job quietly and efficiently which he has done with great effect. The two together have formed a great partnership, now Mr P needs to look left and right to complete a very formidable defense.

No I just remembered the shit they got....and it made me smile......As you can see Nev I haven't included any from our numerical friend .....not enough space
Hard job slating either early doors. CB in the PL is a hard ask when a player's coming from abroad.
I thought they were both exciting signings. More pressure on Diop because of the fee, but both have massively stepped up. I can't think of more than 3 or 4 CBs in the whole of the PL I'd swap either for.

Oh, and numbers opinions, much like numbers the West Ham supporter, aren't real.
Yes and with CBs, the chemistry of the pairing makes a difference not just the individuals and they gel very well.

Balbuena was captain of Corinthians I think so I am not surprised.

Been a while where we have played over 10 games and no one has slagged off a center back at some point.
Just a few reminders....

Diop looked right awful from start to finish. I see what Geo was saying about him being clumsy. Not sure if we should stick or twist with him though. Maybe Rice in for him against Wolves? Masuaku definitely needs to make way for Cresswell though

Ball in from a corner and they all left it as usual

Diop looks a £2m player but he’s not the only one at the back who’s just bloody awful

I think bombscare Ogbonna needs permanently binning

I shall immediately throw myself wuffly to the floor for suggesting Diop was shit.
FFS you've been busy while I've been away
I wasn't the only one and up until he scored that night he was as dog shit as the rest. He has proved himself to be a great prospect, they are still making the odd stupid mistake, but the team and manager are starting to look like exactly that.
A cohesive team.
I'm off to scour through the threads in the hope of shaming someone.

I'll hold my hands up and own up that I once said , after Victor Anichebe had signed on a free for WBA from Everton that if he stayed fit he could be the signing of the season. I also said a few unkind things about Mr Snodgrass when he first joined.

Anichebe didn't stay fit and he wasn't the signing of the season btw. But at least Snodgrass took my advice and upped his game. ;)

Now I've got that off my chest I believe I was the first person to suggest Pellegrini as a suitable candidate to be our manager. Well, if you don't blow your own fucking trumpet no other cunt's going to, are they?

Diop has had a decent season but his form has tailed off recently....have managers noticed his faults and are now playing on them?

They have probably have been a bit less consistent the last few games, but that is being a little picky. But there is no denying it,they are a good partnership and it should only improve.

I do think if we had a better defending left back, that would improve things.

Personally,I think it's one of our best Centre Back pairings for many years.

Mainly just fatigue with number of games.

I would say his form was better than for instance Vertongen...

Wouldn’t you?
