We're really struggling to get any kind of consistent service to the front men.

4-3-3 inhibits our attacking side too much. We HAVE to play 4-2-3-1 with both Lanzini AND Payet starting.

Payet + Lanzini = What true love feels like.

Were we playing 4 3 3 in the second half, Payets goal came cause he had nobody to give the ball to, and it wasnt the first time there was noone inside to receive. it was as if we had sacrificed attack to counter a break.

To me Joe we were set up to absorb and counter the whole game .
Basically how our big early successes came last season .
I think zaza looked better for it as well , as did Tore first half .

Thompson said that without Dimi we'd be shocking.

Today was better, but when you look at our fixture list, Sunderland and Stoke are huge games! We also have Burnley and Hull before xmas! So that's 12 points we need to get. But if i'm being honest, do the rest of our fixtures look even slightly winnable? I'm worried because when you look at Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal this season they all have improved massively and I just can't see how we can get anything from those games. But it's worrying thinking we could end up being only on 16 points by xmas. We will really need to produce some shock results before xmas if we want to turn our form around and make sure we beat those other 4 teams i've just mentioned.

So i wasnt imagining it. Zaza fought well today, pity his shooting was akin to the Black Knight attacking a castle with a catapault.

Miles away from where we want to be but better than the last few weeks.
When their goal went in my heart sank and I was waiting for a repeat of the Saints.

Dimi's goal gave us some badly needed happiness, it lifted the whole stadium and we actually had them under it for a decent period of that second half.

Even now on the boat there's a feeling of "non negativity" ........ which is somewhere between positive and negative.

Everyone's pissed but NOT "pissed off" which is better than last week.

And the stats back you up. Boro had 60% of the possession. We had 19 shots. But only 2 on target. And most of the 19 were speculative. And the crossbar doesn't count.

And yes, we hay have Carroll back soon. But midfield is again the problem. We lack energy. I watched The Swansea game earlier. The pressing and energy they showed in the first half gave a side as good as Liverpool big problems. And it should have been more than 1-0 at half-time. Yes, Liverpool showed their class in the end, but we played Boro with respect, not the Bindippers.

What we need is a player like Leon Britton. No fuss but does the dirty work and gives it simple. They look a better team than us atm.

And a draw achieves little. A small step in the right direction I guess but we badly needed 3 points today.
