Re: West Ham v Burnley - Official Match Thread
We approached the 2nd half completely wrong but fortunately a combination of a couple of good Randolph saves and poor finishing from Burnley has helped us across the line. Dropped too deep, too early, our wing backs were forced back 2nd half, not enough energy up front and midfield pressing - Burnley went long a lot and were very successful winning second balls and winning freekicks and lumping it into our area, causing a lot of problems.
I am relieved we got the three points but we need to play with a lot more confidence, I am not convinced this formation is the best one to play at home against a side in the bottom half of the table. Try 5-3-2 or 4-2-3-1.

Fucking hell
Tonight we looked and felt pretty much..... a 15th place sort of team.
That said though..... give me fighting draws against top 8 teams and 1 odd goal wins against bottom teams until we're safe then I'll be happy.
That said....... if tonight was to become the norm then....no thanks.

That 2nd half was crap. No passion or drive in our team to go forward. Lots of mistakes and the ref was quite lenient in this game. We need to improve to have any chance now!...

The luckiest three points we will get, even the penalty was crap, any other team and we might have got well fucked, a shit performance from most.

So relieved to get the points....but man were we poor. We looked as though we were running on empty compared to them.

Talk about doing only just enough…
That was painful to watch.
Mark Clattenberg would have given a dozen yellows and a couple of reds.

And that was out best team out there tonight. Antonio isolated not using his talents in attack. Midfield were too tight and had no space. Carroll flicking on balls to no one. We looked like a team bang under pressure tonight and played so tight. Lets hope they will relax and be more positive against Hull. The times a player had the ball and Noble pointed back to them to pass it back. Scratching me head but i guess Billic set up not to concede after the recent criticism. Andy looks hungry but needs help

At least the other results all went our way in terms of pulling out the drop zone.
