HAMMERS VS ASTRA

Postby hammer23 » Fri Aug 05, 2016 12:16 pm

We've been drawn against Astra again! The team who knocked us out last year. What are your thoughts? Will we beat them this time?

Not the draw we wanted, but i think we have a better team to go forward with and revenge is sweet.
18th August is the away leg
25th August is the home leg

Mad

Chelsea away monday
Astra away Thursday
Bournemouth home Sunday
Astra home Thursday
City away Sunday

We need some bodies. If Slav gets us through into groups and 4 points I'll be very happy.

We'll bury them. Slav had only just started before last years games and we had played the kids in the preliminary's. I am 100% confident, if Slav and the board want us to win, then we will do it easily. We have the making of a really good and deep squad, apart from the known full backs and centre forwards problem areas. Last nights victory and the assured performances from Oxford and Norveidt are giving me thoughts that this year we can more than equal last years efforts.

Strange one this. If it were any other team, the cynic in me might have said that we'd have a go, but we wouldn't be too fussed about the result, purely because at the moment the squad as Slavs said isn't big enough. However, being drawn against them again, I think we will want to put the record straight and tear them a new one. It would be a tad embarrassing losing out to them twice!
I was only saying last night that I wonder who'd be in our group, I forgot there's another knock out round in this shite ffs!

Confident we can beat this lot . Last year was very different to where we are now .
We have a strong squad now and with a couple more players to come in we should be able to cope.
Noble will be right up for this

I can see Slav playing a slightly weaker side on the away leg to see how we get on and depending on the result a stronger side on the home leg. I would like to see fletcher start, looks like a decent forward.

So Astra again I can see us being on our a game with new players coming in and a squad further forward than last year but just hope we don't struggle early doors league wise dependant on signings
