Sir Billy Connolly

Post by palerider » Thu Jan 03, 2019 10:27 am

There's a documentary on him this Friday in which he talks of how he thinks he's near the end.

He's now 76 and has Parkinson's disease, a wicked illness that gradually robs you of your faculties and memories.

I had the privilege of seeing him perform once. Without doubt the funniest show I've ever seen.

Make the most of the time you have left Big Yin.

A bona fide national treasure.
Always loved his stand-up, but I especially enjoyed his 'world tour of' shows. Still well worth a watch if you can find them.

Communism deprives no man of the power to appropriate the products of society; all that it does is to deprive him of the power to subjugate the labour of others by means of such appropriations.

I'm not a big girls blouse but I'll fecking bawl like a little girl when the time comes. One of my favourite people on the planet and I've been lucky enough to meet him several times, he's as awesome personally as he is on stage, tv or in a film.

One of my if not my favourite TV person ever.

So so funny .... Many moons ago I see him with his wife in a shoe shop in Kings road and I don't mine admitting I was star struck .....

I see him live on stage and after the show it was like I'd been punched in the ribs I had laughed so much.

I still watch a audience with Billy Connolly once or twice a year and still makes me laugh out loud.

Good bless you Billy x

Played at my Dad's clubs in Luton, Windsor and Wales...met him a couple of times. A very nice fella and a genius comic.

Very sad but he seems to have a lot of dignity.
