The majority of us spend the majority of our lives at work earning money to pay for and buy shit that we don't need. That shit has to be produced & packaged, using all manner of materials.
It's supply & demand. If humans stopped demanding shite on an astronomical level the people who make it would stop doing so.
Funnily enough I'm doing some painting at home and there was shit everywhere so I told everyone that they need to throw out a bin liner of stuff.
There were a few moans but but everyone had loads of stuff that they'd not used in over a year so how much is it going to be missed?
The kids get a lot of shit for Christmas but 90% of the time they play with Lego or draw and the presents get used once. It's incredibly wasteful.
