We consume like fuck, and until we smarten up and realise we don't need most of the shit that we have it's not going to get any better.

The majority of us spend the majority of our lives at work earning money to pay for and buy shit that we don't need. That shit has to be produced & packaged, using all manner of materials.

It's supply & demand. If humans stopped demanding shite on an astronomical level the people who make it would stop doing so.

Funnily enough I'm doing some painting at home and there was shit everywhere so I told everyone that they need to throw out a bin liner of stuff.

There were a few moans but but everyone had loads of stuff that they'd not used in over a year so how much is it going to be missed?

The kids get a lot of shit for Christmas but 90% of the time they play with Lego or draw and the presents get used once. It's incredibly wasteful.

This stuff upsets me almost as much as deliberate cruelty. Just horrible.

Absolutely heartbreaking mate......

Something I've never seen or maybe never noticed, but seeing the gulls on the seafront..Brighton..
have taken to eating the little plastic containers that contain butter like spreads, that people
get given with their breakfasts....

One Animal will watch another do something and copy it and it spreads......maybe this whale watched
it's mother eating plastic and assumes it's edible...they're not to know..

Should be a huge worldwide campaign to clear up and stop this shit..

It's not so much consumerism mate,I know some of it is crap, but someones gotta make it,creates
jobs, etc.....but it's the overuse of packaging to justify the price of something....

They add 20% on to the price of a Banana, stick it in some ridiculous packaging that only
should be only costing 10% extra, nice little earner.......

found this, few examples...https://www.cartridgesave.co.uk/news/10 ... ing-fails/

I don't think cleaning up or even recycling is the answer. The trouble is too many just aren't bothered.
Companies like this http://lactips.com/en/home-lactips-en/? ... ukQAvD_BwE are probably the best hope. Water soluble plastic pellets made from milk protein. Plastics that can be harmlessly ingested and that are biodegradable are the only real solution, imo.

Communism deprives no man of the power to appropriate the products of society; all that it does is to deprive him of the power to subjugate the labour of others by means of such appropriations.

No one single answer mate.......But this is great.. cos we have to be realistic,we do need some
form of plastic....

But separating the crap from general waste is still vital.
