There's a really good documentary just released called "LA Originals"

It's mainly about 2 blokes from East LA. One a photographer & the other a graffiti artist who became THE tattoo artist to musicians & athletes ($50k for a tattoo) but covers hip hop, music, LA Latino culture, Chollos, low riders, homeless & shitloads more.

Well worth a watch.

Netflix - Geo & Gonzo review

Post by BlackDiamond » Tue Apr 14, 2020 10:01 am

Good show, I enjoyed that - although I've not signed up to netflix yet. I still have quite a reservoir of
stuff on BBC iPlayer and Channel 4's, Walter presents (subtitled) foreign dramas.

From what they discussed:

GOT - not watched...maybe I will discover sometime...plus Emilia Clark is a natural draw

Breaking Bad - Excellent story arc and things really do break bad when Walter allows Jesse's girlfriend
to die, passively observing. And yes Skyler is irritating - was she written intentionally that way - but I found Jesse equally irritating. Hank one of my favourite characters + the mexican cartel enforcer brothers,Mike,Saul,Gus

Soprano's - not watched and it's very dated now,in terms of production.

[spooks] - just finished series 1, 9 more to watch - 5 stars from me

Unabomber - not seen but I like forensic detection. For the future

Money Heist - not watched but again, love crime heists and happy with subtitles. For the future

Lost - not my thing

The Missing - Good tense story but and it's a huge BUT...can't stand James Nesbit...which is a problem right there

The Walking Dead - seen 1-3 and enjoyed. It's very well scripted and the mini stories create character emotional
attachment. So why did I stop at 3,don't know but it's something to do with the story arc which doesn't seem to
have a purpose or one that is understood. Mission creep ?

Life on Mars - excellent,retro,unpolitically correct,soundtrack,visually amusing

Omissions:
The Wire (wtf really ?)
The Shield - https://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-shield
The Honourable Woman - https:https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/ ... able-woman
Line of Duty (series 1-3) - https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/ ... ne-of-duty

Look forward to the next wrap up

Cheers BD, will take a look.

Am well into money heist- it took me 6 episodes before I realised it was dubbed  albeit only watching on the small screen (iPhone), and usually after many beers - it is dubbed well - I just thought it was slightly out of sync, and kept resetting it every now and then
