Leaving the politics aside for a moment the big problem the NHS has is organisation.
My mum has had a serious infection since the beginning of the year. Firstly the GP misdiagnosed it as just a minor sinus problem 'leave it, it will clear up in 6 months', 4 months later the pain is so bad she's in A&E.
She goes back to the doctor who literally gives the same diagnosis, and sends her to have her ear syringed because the untreated infection has made her deaf in one ear.
The nurse doing the syringing looks in her ear for 3 seconds and tells her 'it's not blocked, so there's no point syringing it'.
All this bollocks results in a month long hospital stay, not to mention the worry of a specialist refusing to rule out the possibility of a tumor.
Then we have various appointments being contradicted and cancelled by different departments and doctors for almost six months.

How in an age where technology is so advanced can one doctor make you appointments for a biopsy and a cat scan, and the day before another doctor tell you not to bother going? And yes, they did ask why those appointments weren't attended.

I dread to think of the time and money wasted on something that could probably have been cleared up by a course of antibiotics.
I do agree with that. I also work with the NHS and the amount of layers of middle management, bureaucracy and wasted money on IT Systems that were never implemented is shocking

Spot on..The right arm doesn't know what the left arm is doing.Mind you,it`s not just in the NHS,it's everywhere. You think to yourself, with the internet and technology, why is so hard to sort?
Exactly guys.....people seem to think moneys the only answer, somethings failing or not working,
Oh give it more money.....you can actually make something worse,by the people receiving
the money investing more in a system/procedure that is failing...

Had some dealings with NHS last few years......minor shit for me,but Big stuff for my family
Never been so angry and frustrated in my life....
One example.. the Doctors Surgery was Updating stuff on the Surgeries data base, but it wasn't
being transferred on to the Hospitals system.....
Oh we're on a different systems..... Sorry say what... :? we have different systems...
oh right....inside I'm.. you are fuckin kidding me..
So you change your address....which the Doctors surgery updates, but the Hospital send
your appointment to the old address....because they're on a different system/data base....
I was Gobsmacked...
That's just one small thing......their overspending is fuckin phenomenal, knew someone,a few
years ago now....worked pretty high up in admin St Thomases London...
Everything they Buy is 2/3 times what you and me can get in our high street..or on-line
should i say now....they were getting Laptops in no cheap shit obviously.....paying a grand for
em.....me and you can go down currys or whatever get one for half that.

Just recent...Mums a bit run down...lethargic....evidently a B12 deficiency,gotta have
some injections....also they gave her some Vitamin type drinks ...Ensure its called...
one of my mums friends is a home visiting nurse so shes been keeping an eye out for mum,
says yeah its about £7 a bottle.....Shit...good stuff then....Mums getting low on it,not sure
if it's on a repeat,so I'll have a look round.....get it in bulk.. 30 bottles or so bout £1.90 ish...

The organisational side of things is shocking, but that really is down to the government. Surely for integrated technology you need a top down implementation system that covers every health trust in the country.
Currently each has its own budget, and as such there's no unified approach to anything.
That said we are short of tens of thousands of nurses, and this governments answer is to promise more nurses whilst cutting bursaries.
So whilst spending isn't the answers to everything, it really is the answer in some areas.

Trouble is mate people hate change, even if long term it's for the better...
Seen it load of times in different areas...someone an "outsider" comes in and says I've done a
work study and,if you were to do it this way,it's cheaper and more efficient...
People hate that being told that they're wrong, and are very reluctant to listen and implement
to the degree of hindering any change.

It's a question of how much we blame the Government for,and what they're
responsible for.
Institutions must be allowed to run themselves and not be Government controlled, make
sure they have the Money...Private (under used IMO)or Public...obviously..But..
The people that run the NHS and other organisations...Should...Should know better than
any MP,whats best for their own Business.

They tried that, it cost over £12bn and they canned it.

£12bn. On nothing. Absolutely nothing delivered.

After the momentous day in parliament yesterday it seems self-serving MP's have got their own way and Brexit may not actually happen at all.

So much for democracy.

Of course the likes of Rees-Mogg won't lose their seat when that cunt Corbyn wins the election but he, Dominic Grieve, and all the other rebels must be de-selected.

I fear there'll be massive social unrest over this.

The whole Brexit thing has been a cock up from the word go.
Apart from in and out being far too vague, having literally no plan for a leave vote was absolutely criminal.
And can anyone think of a worse group of politicians to organise Brexit?
May, Davis, Raab, Fox, with constant oars being stuck in by Johnson, Gove and Rees-Mogg. It's that lot of self serving shite hawks who should be deselected.

Although I know you're a Corbyn-nosher Nev, I don't disagree on the de-selection issue.

Having voted to leave, and after Call-me-Dave resigned, the first thing that should have happened was for an MP who actually voted to leave be made PM. May's heart has never been in it. I don't believe she's self-serving herself and has done her limited best but was the wrong choice from the start. As for being too vague, I'm sorry but I don't agree. There's an assumption that the 52% were too stupid to realise what they voted for. And why, if Brexit is abandoned, there'll be riots.

The Chequers deal was and is pants and it will be voted down. Probably not in the numbers forecast, but voted down nonetheless. Leaving the country on the brink of a Labour government.

All the names you mentioned above ?

Turkeys voting for Christmas.

And many of the Remain Tory Mp's are a disgrace.

The bill by Dominic Grieve yesterday which in effect gives the Commons the go-ahead to piss on democracy is such an act of betrayal that 300 years ago, heads would literally have rolled for it. Grieve is the MP for Beaconsfield. Who voted to leave in the referendum. But because Grieve thinks he knows best he's just ignored his own constituents.

May's deal is the best the EU were ever going to offer. To think that more concessions could be wrung from them is laughable. They didn't want us to leave as our money props up their failing policies, and the decision from them yesterday that the EU don't need to give us permission to overturn article 50 confirms it.
