It's been a privilege
Knowing you all. But I'm not long for this world.
I'm afraid the man flu has made it's annual appearance and the man with the hooded black robe is pointing his scythe at me with that bony arm.
My daughter has called me a pathetic wimp but she isn't experiencing the suffering. Childbirth ? Pah.
While you sip your pints this week please spare me a thought as I slowly shuffle off this mortal coil.
Adieu.

I bet you had your flu jab, didn't you?
I had one last winter, and unsurprisingly caught the worst, longest lasting bout of flu I've ever had.
Me: I had the jab, why have I got flu?
Doctor: it's not 100% effective.

Communism deprives no man of the power to appropriate the products of society; all that it does is to deprive him of the power to subjugate the labour of others by means of such appropriations.

I'm not one to ask for sympathy but it's ironic that someone who's spent his life caring for his family is shunned in his hour of need. I remember as if it were yesterday carrying my frail Mum downstairs when she was ill so she could make my breakfast.
But we all have to play the cards with which we're dealt. I've just had a nap on the sofa and feel marginally better. I may attempt to feebly spoon some chicken soup into my pain-wracked body later.

I know what you mean, mate. My brothers hypochondria garners him sympathy every time he has a mild cold.palerider wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 8:34 amYes Nev I had the jab.Neville Bartos wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 7:57 amI bet you had your flu jab, didn't you?

Those of us who stoically battle on regardless aren't given a second thought.
You should message Gonzo about a eulogy, just in case.

Most evenings when I sit down to watch the box I pour myself a liberal glass of Scotland's finest. The only time I have had flu was when I once had a jab to prevent the bloody thing. Haven't had one since. Nor have I been troubled by man flu, Asian flu, bird flu or any other variant of the bloody thing.palerider wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 8:34 amYes Nev I had the jab.Neville Bartos wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 7:57 amI bet you had your flu jab, didn't you?

So I have a message for all those fucking po faced do gooders who keep telling me I drink too much and that message is Please go and fuck yourselves. And I shall write to my M P asking, nay demanding, that my particular brand of medication be made available on the NHS.
Now stop fucking bleating, man up, get yourself down to Tescos and buy yourself a bottle. Or better still two.

TRADITION--Just because we've always done it like this doesn't mean it's not incredibly SILLY

I'm with you Pale, it's a fucking killer. The kids and wife had it, but not as bad as me, no chance, they were up and out and got on with their lives. Clearly not the same fucking disease, although the wife (not a fucking doctor) seems to think they were.
Anyway, Brandy or Whiskey, that is the only answer, or both

Brandi's the one of the left and Whisky's the one on the right.
