West Ham defender Issa Diop has emerged as a target for Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to Sky Sports.

The Red Devils value the 22-year-old at £45m as they try to rebuild in an attempt to finish in a Champions League position next season.

However, West Ham have made it clear that the French defender is not for sale and would have to pay a lot more than £45m if they are to tempt David Sullivan and David Gold into selling.

Diop joined the Hammers last summer for just over £20m, and has taken to the Premier League very well, cementing a first-team spot in the squad.

West Ham fan for as long as I can remember. I was flukey enough to watch The Irons beat Bury 10-0 in my first ever game . . . True to form, West Ham then went out and signed their central defender 😬

  1. If Man Utd want him badly enough, they’ll probably, as our board are driven by profit. Think they’d have to perhaps go to £55M though. Good return in a year, but would be gutted to see him go. The money would need to be spent on suitable, credible replacement,. Not a deadline day last gasp, anyone will do on loan!
