Wow. I'm amazed.

Makes a mockery of the system though. Very pleased but he's not played enough games for his country and he's not what you class 'an exceptional talent'.

So much for Theresa May tightening the borders.

Not sure what swerve they pulled and don't care if he turns out to be a Pelle special, only cost £3.5-£4m.COYI

No.

But all of a sudden, 125 of those buggers at Calais are world-class defensive midfielders.

That was his release clause. Not sure what value the guy has on the market.

Well he has certainly done well at Corinthias, wondering why he hasn't been imvolved in the Paraguay national team more though.

I like these kinds of signings, it's interesting when we sign someone relatively inheard of outside of Europe, you never know what youre getting.

Looking forward to seeing him play! Hope he proves a success

He is a good player, I have seen him play a lot over here. Not spectacular, not hard hitting but very intelligent, he also has a good eye for the pass. Last season they went 7 games on the bounce with a clean sheet, largely due to Balbuena. Hes the type of player who will just need to put his foot in to change defense into attack. Really good signing for West Ham if he can adapt. I don't think he has ever faced European opponents even in the few games he played for Paraguay.

End of the day though guy is gonna come in on anything from £30-70k per week straight into the Highest Tax bracket so I dunno why the Home Office wouldn't give him a permit.

Apparently we payed £3.6m,and his value £4.5m.I make this cheap for a player who has been in the Brazilian league team of the season 3 times and Corinthians run of seven clean sheets on the bounce last season marked him out as one who had a chief input in that and their league championship.COYI

Let's be honest, if any Premier League manager is going to be able to spot talent from South America it's ours. If Pellegrini is still around this time next year I'll expect a few more of these types.
