Should owners be able to sue managers when they are negligent to the team they manage? Is it currently possible?
For example, let's look at Pellegrini.
It is clear to everyone that his lack of sorting out the defensive side of our team is bordering on a criminal act. We all know that we may get away with it for the first 7 or 8 games but after that, when managers have seen our defensive problems, we will get absolutely slaughtered defensively.
By acting like a Sunday league manager and not coaching/upgrading our defence, is Pellegrini performing a criminal act? He will cost the owners millions, so should they be able to take him to court for list earnings?
OK let's unpack this and see if all these interesting ducks you mention, swim in a straight line.
So if a manager essentially loses too many games, should the board sue him ? Like start court proceedings and get the lawyers involved. What normally happens and in fact always happens, is they dispense with his services at a convenient time decided by themselves.
Should that club respectively sue that manager after his sacking, rather than pay his contract off is one for employment tribunal law.
The problem is intent. Can you prove a manager was intentionally fucking useless rather than just bog standard fucking useless in the normal understanding of that description.
and what I've noticed - just to give a more personalised opinion, although nobody has asked for it - is by the very first stage, of somebody giving a hint of being in the slightly fucking useless camp then they are heading for the exit door, before anybody asks...did they intend this
